The City of Katy's Senior Services Department is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through a variety of engaging activities and programs that aim to uplift their spirits, stimulate their minds, and promote physical well-being. With the goal of keeping seniors in the Katy area active, engaged, and empowered to maintain independent and fulfilling lifestyles, the Department provides a diverse array of activities and programs, including day trips to exciting destinations.
For the month of April, the Fussell Senior Center has curated a thoughtful selection of outings. Seniors in the local area can simply call 281-391-4837 to register and then gather at the Fussell Senior Center at the scheduled departure time, with transportation arranged for them. With the meticulous planning of the Senior Services team, participants can relax, enjoy, and make the most of the experience without worrying about logistics.

Shiner Gaslight Theatre and Dinner
The Shiner Gaslight Theatre is a non-profit community dinner theatre which seats 132 and provides contemporary and classic theatre. The poignant comedy, "Accommodations" revolves around a woman who leaves her husband and moves into an apartment she believes will be shared by two other women. At the same time, one of the "roommates" thinks the same thing - only he believes it's two other men! The ensuing complications make a hysterical evening of entertainment for the whole family with a happy ending for everyone. If this plot sounds familiar, you might be remembering the 1980s television version that made it famous, "Three's Company."

Helpful Information About Trips
If you will be going on an all-day trip and are able to safely cross 5th street, please note that the Fussell Senior Center parking lot has limited parking available. You are welcome to park in the church parking lot across the street from the Fussell Senior Center so seniors who are attending daily activities at the center may find a spot.
Prior to precinct bus trips, each passenger will be given a numbered chip indicating the order in which you and your seat mate may enter the bus. Seating is first come first served. Participants are asked to refrain from sitting in the front bus seats, as they are saved for supplies and the trip coordinator. Seniors may be allowed to sit in the front bus seats at the coordinator's discretion. Since temperatures are difficult to control on the bus, participants are encouraged to bring a portable fan or jacket in extreme temperatures. Valuables may not be secure when left on the bus, so participants are encouraged to bring a small bag to carry all important belongings.
Food and drink is not allowed on any bus with the exception of water in a closed, no leak container. Also, please note that bathroom or food stops are typically planned in advance. If an additional stop is required, please notify the trip coordinator immediately.
