SWISD Scholarship 2025-26: Over $250K Available for Southwest ISD Seniors – Apply by Feb. 20
In Southwest San Antonio, opportunity is knocking for graduating high school seniors. The Southwest Independent School District (SWISD) has officially opened the application window for its 2025–2026 district-wide scholarship program, offering more than $250,000 in local scholarship funding to eligible students.
This scholarship program, specifically for SWISD students, is a long-standing community investment designed to support and recognize the district’s future graduates. The online application is open now through midnight on Friday, February 20, 2026, and students must be signed into their Gmail account to apply. Applications must be completed in one sitting—there is no option to save and return later.
Who’s Eligible?
The SWISD Scholarship is open to all graduating seniors who have:
- Been enrolled the entire school year
- Maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Achieved 95% attendance during their senior year (as calculated by ADA standards)
This generous program is funded and managed by a dedicated District Scholarship Committee (DSC) composed of members of the SWISD Board of Trustees, community leaders, campus administrators, counselors, and ex-officio district leadership including the Superintendent and Board President. Their ongoing work ensures the integrity, accessibility, and fairness of the selection process.
Important 2026 Dates for SWISD Scholarship Applicants

How the Process Works
After the application period closes, the District Scholarship Scoring Committee (DSSC) will review and score all submissions. These results are then reviewed by the DSC, which determines final award amounts and recipients across two scholarship categories before submitting their recommendations to the SWISD Board of Trustees.
The committee holds meetings each fall and spring semester to improve the program, discuss policy updates, set timelines, and ensure scholarships are well-advertised and impactful. An annual report on the previous year’s scholarship program is also provided by the DSC Chair at the first fall meeting each academic year.
A Community-Funded Investment in SWISD Seniors
The SWISD Scholarship represents not only a financial boost but also a message from the community: your hard work, dedication, and commitment to education matter. With the rising cost of college and vocational programs, local scholarships like this provide crucial support to families in Southwest San Antonio.
For students, families, and guardians in Southwest San Antonio, now is the time to act. If you know a senior who meets the eligibility requirements, encourage them to apply without delay.
