A Legacy of Champions
The land purchase and planned gym construction are fitting next steps for a program known for producing nationally recognized talent and fostering resilience, confidence, and elite-level athleticism.
Over the years, Stars Vipers Katy teams and athletes have brought home numerous national titles from top-tier competitions including NCA (National Cheerleaders Association) Nationals and The Summit—an exclusive, invitation-only championship known as the pinnacle of All-Star cheerleading. Their consistent success on the mat has placed them among the top cheer gyms in Texas, often recognized for clean technique, innovative choreography, and strong sportsmanship.
Stars Vipers Katy’s reputation is further bolstered by standout performances in individual and small group divisions, with many athletes also earning college scholarships and invitations to elite collegiate cheer programs.
A Vision Fueled by Passion
Behind Stars Vipers Katy’s rapid rise and sustained excellence are founders Denise and Owen Cox—two seasoned coaches with a shared passion for youth development through athletics.
Denise, a Baytown native, began her coaching journey in 1994 after a competitive cheerleading career at Sam Houston State University, where she won a UCA collegiate national championship. That same year, she founded her first All-Star team, launching a career that would span decades and touch hundreds of young lives.
Owen, a former Class 1 competitive gymnast from Spring, Texas, brought discipline and leadership skills honed during his eleven-year service in the United States Marine Corps. Also a 1994 coaching alum, he earned his degree in Education and Applied Science with a focus on Exercise Science from Sam Houston State University. Together, the couple has helped build a gym culture rooted in excellence, encouragement, and perseverance.
“We love seeing kids develop poise and confidence that they can take into every aspect of their lives,” the founders shared. “These are the skills we want to foster in every member of the Stars Vipers Katy team.”

“The best is yet to come, and we can’t wait to share it with you,” the team added.
As one of the fastest-growing youth athletics organizations in Fort Bend County, Stars Vipers Katy’s new facility will serve as more than just a training space—it will be a launchpad for future champions, a haven for personal growth, and a symbol of dreams realized.
