The program is delivered in partnership with the Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation and NPower, connecting residents to:

  • Union trade apprenticeships across 10 industries
  • Digital and IT career training, including cybersecurity
  • Emerging workforce opportunities, including green energy jobs
  • Specialized pathways such as the first IATSE apprenticeship for sports and entertainment workers

Participants are not only trained—they are connected directly to employers, often securing jobs early in the process.

Importantly, the program also provides wraparound support services, such as career coaching and assistance that help participants stay enrolled, complete training, and transition into long-term employment.

The structure behind programs like Apprenticeship Advantage is supported by growing national research. According to a 2025 U.S. Government Accountability Office study, Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) combine paid work, mentorship, and classroom instruction to prepare workers for high-demand careers.

The data shows measurable outcomes:

  • Apprentices often enter high-growth, high-wage occupations, with many roles projected to grow faster than average through 2033
  • Those who complete apprenticeship programs can earn over $80,000 annually shortly after completion
