Spring and Champions Area Families Invited to Free 'Wellness on Wheels' Holiday Health Event This Saturday

December 10 2025

This Saturday, December 13, the George H.W. Bush Community Center in Spring will come alive with festive energy, family fun, and vital health services—all at no cost to residents. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Wellness on Wheels mobile event hosted by Harris County Public Health (HCPH) will bring a powerful combination of community cheer and wellness support to the heart of northwest Harris County.

The event, held in partnership with Harris County Precinct 3, The Common Market, and The Rose Center for Breast Health Excellence, is designed to make preventative healthcare and essential resources more accessible during the busy holiday season—especially for families who might otherwise struggle to prioritize wellness amid the year-end rush.

“We’re excited to bring Wellness on Wheels to the Spring community just in time for the holidays,” said HCPH Executive Director Leah Barton. “This event makes it easier for families to access the care, resources, and information they need to stay healthy while enjoying a fun and engaging day together.”

What to Expect at the Wellness on Wheels Event

The Wellness on Wheels Holiday Edition is much more than a mobile clinic—it’s a festive, all-ages gathering that reflects the spirit of the season while offering support that can make a real difference.

Held outdoors in the George H.W. Bush Community Center parking lot (located at 6827 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77379), the event will feature:

Free health services including:

  • Breast and cervical cancer screenings
  • Dental check-ups
  • Routine vaccinations
  • Lead poisoning tests
  • HIV and STI testing
  • Health education and referrals
  • Information booths focused on gun violence prevention, chronic disease management, food and water safety, and more
  • Free food boxes from The Common Market (available while supplies last)
  • Live music, face painting, and festive family entertainment

Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably for the weather. In case of rain, many of the activities will be shifted indoors to keep the day running smoothly and safely.

Pet Services for Spring Area Families

Pet owners can bring their furry companions for free pet vaccinations and microchipping, courtesy of Harris County Pets. Up to 50 pets will be served on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of two pets per household. Pets must be leashed or safely crated.

This offering is especially welcome in the Spring and Champions-area neighborhoods, where access to low-cost pet care can be limited.

A Day to Care for What Matters Most

This family-friendly wellness fair is part of a broader initiative by Harris County Public Health to bring mobile healthcare access and community resources to underserved areas across the county. Events like this serve as a reminder that public health isn’t just about doctors and data—it’s about bringing people together and removing the barriers to care.

And during the holiday season, that mission feels even more meaningful.

So whether you're checking off that final flu shot, grabbing fresh produce for your holiday table, or just enjoying a little music and face painting with the kids—Wellness on Wheels is one stop you won’t want to miss.
