Spark Your Child’s Interest in Safety: Registration Now Open for Cy-Fair Fire Department's Kids Fire & Safety Camp This Summer
Ignite your child's curiosity and foster a new appreciation for safety this summer with the Cy-Fair Fire Department's Kids Fire & Safety Camp. From July 22-26, 2024, this unique summer camp will offer a peek into the exciting world of firefighting and important lessons about safety protocols. A perfect blend of educational and recreational activities, the camp is open for registration through June 14.
Instructed by dedicated professionals, the Kids Fire & Safety Camp is an exceptional platform for children to learn life-saving skills like CPR and basic first aid, participate in rescue drills, and understand the functions of firefighting gear. Beyond the demonstrations, the camp emphasizes hands-on experience, ensuring children grasp the concepts effectively.
The camp runs for five consecutive half days from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM each day, culminating with a graduation ceremony that will be sure to be a proud moment for the young learners. Each day is packed with interesting activities, from equipment tours and firefighter races, rappelling, fire extinguisher drills, to creating their own first-aid kits. Children also get to meet the Canine Search and Rescue Team and learn about smoke alarm safety, helping participants develop a comprehensive understanding of safety measures.
Registrations are open for boys and girls who have completed second, third, or fourth grade, and all must be residents of Cy-Fair. The selection process for the participants is a random draw, ensuring every child gets a fair chance to be a part of this enriching experience. Note that there is no cost to participate in this camp.
