Souper Bowl of Caring: Tackle Hunger in Cy-Fair This Weekend
Have you heard about the Souper Bowl of Caring? For over 30 years, the Souper Bowl of Caring movement has been inspiring people across the nation to tackle hunger in their local communities around the time of the Big Game.
Tackle Hunger coordinates efforts to combat hunger through their digital platform of fundraising services created to support food charities large and small. Mobilizing grassroots resources including churches, schools, civic groups and caring individuals, this movement has created over $193 million worth of support that stays completely local.
And right now, you can be a part of this initiative in the Cy-Fair area through local nonprofit, Cypress Assistance Ministries! Gather up friends from your church, school, business, neighborhood, organization, social group, or family and coordinate your very own Souper Bowl of Caring campaign! Not sure if you can round up a team to participate in Souper Bowl of Caring with you in time for drop-off at CAM? Here are a few ideas:
- Post your campaign on social media, including your neighborhood Facebook or Nextdoor page, to rally support quickly.
- Create a text thread to family, friends, and/or colleagues with details about your campaign.
- Ask your co-workers for monetary donations towards your campaign, then shop for food items or bring your monetary collection to CAM.
Take the lead and get in the game! Be sure to name Cypress Assistance Ministries as your chosen organization of charity. Then drop off your donations to the food pantry at Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM), located at 12930 Cypress N. Houston, Cypress, TX 77429, on Saturday, February 10 from 9:00am - 3:00pm.
When getting the word out about your campaign, just remember to pick a designated meeting place to collect donations on the morning of Saturday, February 10 so you can get them over to CAM in time! Let's Tackle Hunger Together!
