Slick City Action Park Bringing Indoor Slides and Family Adventure to North Austin
Families in North Austin may soon have a new year-round destination for high-energy fun as Slick City Action Park, a fast-growing indoor family entertainment brand, prepares to open its first Austin location at Braker Lane Crossing.
According to project filings, the new Slick City Action Park Austin will be located at 4501 W. Braker Lane, Suite C in Austin, Texas, where an existing vacant tenant space that was occupied by Floor & Decor will be transformed into a nearly 41,000-square-foot indoor family entertainment center. Construction is scheduled to begin May 1, 2026, with an anticipated completion date of November 1, 2026. The renovation project carries an estimated cost of $700,000 and will convert the space into a destination focused on indoor slides, active play and family entertainment.
For families across North Austin, the Braker Lane corridor, and surrounding Travis County neighborhoods, the project represents another sign of continued investment in family-focused entertainment options that allow residents to stay active while enjoying time together indoors.
What Is Slick City Action Park?
Founded as a new type of indoor action park concept, Slick City Action Park is known for its dry slides, air courts and adventure attractions designed for both kids and adults. Unlike traditional water parks, Slick City uses specialized slide surfaces that allow riders to glide quickly without water, creating a unique indoor experience that can operate year-round regardless of weather.
The parks typically feature a combination of attractions such as:
- Multi-story indoor dry slides
- Freestyle air courts for basketball and parkour-style jumping
- Junior play zones for younger children
- Multi-lane racing slides
- Interactive climbing and adventure areas
- Party rooms for birthdays and group events
The concept blends elements of trampoline parks, amusement centers and slide parks, creating a space where families, teens and groups can stay active while enjoying a shared experience.
Because the attractions do not rely on water systems, Slick City facilities can operate indoors in retail centers and commercial developments, making them popular additions to shopping districts and entertainment corridors.

Growing Brand Expanding Across Texas
Slick City Action Park has been expanding its footprint across the United States as demand grows for indoor family entertainment centers and active recreation venues.
Texas has become an important part of that expansion, with locations already operating in Katy, Northwest Houston, and Denton, and additional parks planned or under development across the state.
The Austin Slick City Action Park will mark the first location in the Austin metro area, bringing the brand’s signature indoor slide experience to one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas.
For many families, indoor entertainment venues like Slick City offer a reliable option during extreme heat, rainy days or winter weather, while still encouraging active play.
A New Use for Vacant Retail Space in North Austin
The project will repurpose a vacant tenant space at Braker Lane Crossing, converting it into a large-scale recreational destination spanning 40,898 square feet.
Adaptive reuse of commercial space has become an increasingly common trend in rapidly growing areas like North Austin, where entertainment, recreation and experiential retail concepts are filling spaces once used primarily for traditional retail.
Projects like this can bring increased foot traffic to surrounding businesses while offering families a new place to gather, celebrate birthdays and spend time together.
What This Means for Austin Families
As Austin continues to grow, families are increasingly looking for indoor entertainment options, birthday party venues, and family activity centers near them. Concepts like Slick City Action Park help meet that demand by providing an all-weather destination where children, teens and adults can stay active.
With its planned opening in late 2026, the Austin location could become a new hub for birthday parties and group celebrations, youth outings and school events, family weekend activities, and team-building events and private gatherings.

What Happens Next
Construction on the project is expected to begin in May 2026, with renovations transforming the existing retail space into the indoor action park environment Slick City is known for.
If the construction timeline holds, Austin families could see the park open in late 2026, just in time to provide a new indoor destination heading into the winter season.
As Austin continues to attract new residents and families, projects like this reflect a broader shift toward community gathering spaces that combine recreation, entertainment and family-friendly experiences under one roof.
