Silver Watch Program Offers Peace of Mind and Support to Seniors and Families in Westlake Forest

August 28 2025

For seniors living alone in Westlake Forest, or for adult children concerned about an aging parent, help is already close to home. The Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office is reminding residents about the Silver Watch Program—a free, ongoing service that provides regular in-person welfare checks for senior citizens across the precinct.

Under the leadership of Constable Terry Allbritton, the Silver Watch Program was created to offer added support to older adults living independently. Seniors—or their family members—can register for the program by filling out a brief form online. Once enrolled and with the senior’s consent, a uniformed deputy will visit their home each week to ensure they are safe and doing well.

These visits do more than provide a quick check-in. Deputies also offer helpful information about local safety concerns and take time to educate seniors about common scams targeting older adults.

“Here at Precinct 5, we care about our senior citizens,” said Constable Allbritton. “Their quality of life is important to us, and we know how hard it can be protecting them in later years.”

The need for proactive support like Silver Watch continues to grow. According to the FBI’s 2023 Elder Fraud Report, Americans over the age of 60 reported more than $3.4 billion in losses to scams last year—a troubling trend fueled by online fraud, tech support schemes, and impersonation calls.

Programs like Silver Watch help combat this growing threat by connecting seniors with trusted deputies who can educate them about scam tactics, share updates on local crime trends, and offer tips on how to protect themselves, their property, and their peace of mind.

The Silver Watch Program helps combat this by ensuring seniors in Precinct 5 have a trusted connection to law enforcement. During their weekly visits, deputies will:

  • Make sure the senior is safe and healthy

  • Provide tips on how to avoid frauds and scams

  • Answer questions about local crime trends and personal security

  • Share contact information for local agencies that can help with non-police concerns

Although Silver Watch is not a substitute for emergency services, full-time caregiving, or medical attention, it serves as a meaningful touchpoint for seniors who may otherwise feel overlooked.

“Our deputies don’t just check in—they listen, educate, and connect,” Allbritton added. “We want seniors and their families to know we’re here for them.”

If you or someone you love could benefit from Silver Watch, you can sign up easily by visiting the official program page at  constablepct5.com/silver-watch

The form is quick, and only requires basic contact information and the senior’s consent. Deputies will then begin routine visits to promote safety and connection in the weeks ahead.

Families in Westlake Forest are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable program. It’s one more way our local law enforcement is working to keep our community safer—and our seniors supported.
