Sign Up for a Summer Adventure with Family Fun at LSC-CyFair's Library
This year’s Summer Reading Program (SRP) theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and at Lone Star College-CyFair the featured programs kick off June 5 with a Big Texas Bubbles party, concludes with a July 31 special Christmas in July performance of “The Nutcracker,” and so much more in between.

Among the featured programs designed for children are an all-original Books Alive Theater production on June 26 that’s sure to delight and entertain, as well as returning favorites, such as Zumba with Stephanie Krueger on July 3, Crocodile Encounter July 10, and John O’Bryant’s Magic show July 17.
New this year will be the Houston Museum of Natural Science Discovery Dome July 24. Offered every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., attendees can have an immersive, engaging and realistic full-dome theater experience of roaring dinosaurs, soaring spaceships, raging rivers and more.

Programs such as book club, crafts, games, RPG and movies are available for both tweens (ages 10-12) and teens (ages13-18). Some programs require registration or free tickets available 30 minutes prior to the program to participate. Free tickets for tween programs are at the Kids Corner reference desk while tickets for teen programs are at the adult reference desk. Adults (age 18 and older) can enjoy weekly “Crafts and Coffee” Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – noon in the Library (LRNC) Room 131. For this program “You bring a craft to work on and we will provide the coffee.”
In addition, the library will host two months of “Adventures UNLEASHED” with cat-themed events in June, which is National Adopt-a-Cat Month, and dog-themed events in July. Among the cat and dog-themed activities will be Take-and-Make crafts, story times, books clubs, a “Purr Paws Cat Cafe” and “Pupper Person Pawty” days to adopt a new furry friend.
