Shop for a Cause at CWC's Shop 'til You Drop
Get your shopping bags ready for Cy-Fair's most beloved annual shopping event that's centered on giving back to the community.
On Saturday, September 9, the Cy-Fair Women's Club (CWC) will once again host Shop 'til You Drop, the club's annual fundraiser and main source of funds for scholarships and grants to help other nonprofits across the Cy-Fair region.
Shop 'til You Drop had humble beginnings in the late 1990s with just a few vendors coming to CWC's monthly meetings for members to shop. By 2006, this small craft show had quickly grown to host 100 vendors and relocated to the Lone Star College Cy-Fair campus. Then in 2008, Hurricane Ike forced the CWC to cancel that year's show, moving once again to the Berry Center in 2009 to accommodate the ever-growing numbers and shoppers. Flash forward to today, Shop 'til You Drop is a true shopping extravaganza with more than 275 vendors and booths selling a wide array of products to over 5,500 people each year.
The CWC's Booth Sales committee has worked hard to provide a variety of vendors, both returning and new, offering women's and children's clothing, home decor, handmade goods, lotions, soaps, art, tasty treats and much more. Over the last month, the CWC has been highlighting this year's vendors on their Facebook and Instagram pages, giving shoppers and supporters a sneak peak of the vendors.
In addition to a delightful variety of shopping opportunities, attendees also have an opportunity to be educated at Shop 'til You Drop. Stroll through the nonprofit section to learn about nonprofits in the Cy-Fair community and how you can help or volunteer. In fact, many of these nonprofits received support from funds generated by last year's Shop 'til You Drop proceeds. MD Anderson, one of CWC's community partners, will have an inflated, walk-through breast display where attendees can learn about breast health. Another CWC community partner, Kendra Scott, will also have a booth, where 20 precent of sales will be given back to Shop 'til You Drop.
The event is completely run by CWC members, Community Partners, and various organizations that support the Cy-Fair Women's Club. The CWC proudly donates all proceeds from Shop 'til You Drop back to the community in the form of student scholarships and charitable donations. Cy-Fair Women's Club will also a host a booth at STYD near the main entrance. Attendees are invited to stop by their booth and chat with some CWC members. Stop by the CWC's free photo booth and get your photo taken solo, with friends, or with family in the Atrium near Entrance 3, and be sure to check out their great raffles.
Shop 'til You Drop will be held on Saturday, September 9 at the Berry Center, located at 8877 Barker Cypress Road in Cypress, from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Admission and parking are free for all attendees.
The Cy-Fair Women's Club's Community Partners for Shop 'til You Drop 2023 include MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Methodist, Genesis Photography, Kendra Scott, and Tru By Hilton, who have played a vital role in the success of this event. See you at the Berry Center on September 9!
