Santa’s Merry Mingle Brings Holiday Cheer and Hands-On Fun to The Woodlands Children’s Museum

December 12 2025

Families in The Woodlands and surrounding communities are invited to step into a wonderland of festive fun as Santa’s Merry Mingle returns to The Woodlands Children’s Museum on Saturday, December 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This one-day-only event promises an immersive holiday experience filled with music, art, snow play, and magical encounters designed especially for young children and their families.

Known for its focus on early childhood development through hands-on learning, The Woodlands Children’s Museum has been a beloved educational and cultural hub in Montgomery County since its founding. The museum's exhibits and programs are designed to spark curiosity and creativity in children ages seven and under. Santa’s Merry Mingle is one of its most anticipated seasonal events—tailored to delight and inspire through interactive holiday cheer.

Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by the joyful sounds of the Lone Star Strummers, setting the festive tone. Children can meet and snap a photo with the ever-popular Olaf from Frozen, then dig into a snowy sensory experience that allows them to play and mold their own winter creations with handfuls of soft white flakes.

The main attraction, of course, is Santa Claus himself. Children will have the opportunity to sit with Santa, share their wish lists, and take home a professional framed photo—a keepsake sure to be cherished for years to come.

A special storytelling tradition continues with Mrs. Claus, who will read beloved holiday tales at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. Her Gingerbread House Workshop will also be open, giving kids a chance to construct sweet masterpieces using frosting, gumdrops, and plenty of imagination.

Angela Colton, Executive Director of The Woodlands Children’s Museum, shared her excitement: “We are excited to welcome back Le Theatre de Marionette’s Peppermint Twist show on stage at 10:30am and 12:30pm. The show's puppetry offers an opportunity for young guests to experience this timeless art form with its unique blend of artistry, skill, and imagination.”

After the puppet show, children are encouraged to visit The Muse art bar, where they can create festive art projects to take home. Before heading out, all guests will receive a holiday goodie bag, extending the seasonal joy beyond the museum walls.
