San Antonio Resident Wins $1 Million on $50 Texas Lottery Scratch Ticket Purchased at H-E-B

San Antonio / New Braunfels
October 28 2026

A San Antonio resident has claimed a $1 million Texas Lottery prize after purchasing a winning Casino Millions scratch ticket at a neighborhood H-E-B, turning an ordinary grocery store visit into a life-changing moment.

The lucky ticket was sold at H-E-B Food Store #235, located at 9255 Grissom Road in San Antonio, Texas. The winner elected to remain anonymous, and the Texas Lottery has not released additional details about the person who claimed the prize.

The win is also good news for the retailer. The H-E-B location could receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, while other Texas Lottery players may be interested to learn that several million-dollar prizes remain available in the same game.

San Antonio H-E-B Could Receive $10,000 Bonus for Selling Winning Ticket

The $1 million prize was claimed through the Texas Lottery's Casino Millions scratch ticket game, officially designated as Game No. 2689.

For selling the winning ticket, H-E-B Food Store #235 may qualify for a $10,000 retailer bonus through the Texas Lottery's Retailer Bonus Program.

The program rewards eligible businesses that sell certain top prize-winning lottery tickets, providing an additional financial benefit for participating retailers.

The Texas Lottery did not disclose when the winning ticket was purchased or how long the winner held onto it before claiming the prize.

Seven $1 Million Casino Millions Prizes Remained Unclaimed as of October 27

The San Antonio win was the third $1 million top prize claimed in Casino Millions, a $50 scratch ticket game offering more than $195.3 million in total prizes.

According to the Texas Lottery's official Casino Millions game information, 10 top prizes of $1 million were originally available, with three claimed as of October 27, 2026. That means seven $1 million top prizes remained unclaimed at that time.

Casino Millions has approximately 5 million tickets in its overall game production, with prizes ranging from $50 to $1 million.

In addition to the top prizes, the game includes thousands of winning tickets worth $500 or more.

How Much Does a Casino Millions Scratch Ticket Cost, and What Are the Odds of Winning?

Casino Millions tickets cost $50 each, placing the game among the Texas Lottery's higher-priced scratch ticket offerings.

According to the Texas Lottery, the overall odds of winning any prize are approximately 1 in 3.45. However, those odds include break-even prizes, such as winning $50 on a $50 ticket.

That distinction is important for anyone considering purchasing a ticket. Winning a prize does not necessarily mean coming away with more money than was spent, and the odds of claiming a $1 million top prize are considerably smaller than the game's overall winning odds.

Casino Millions tickets are distributed in packs of 20, with the Texas Lottery listing a guaranteed total prize amount of $500 per pack. That guarantee applies to the pack as a whole, not to any individual ticket purchased.

Players can review the game's official rules, remaining prizes and other information on the Texas Lottery Casino Millions game page.

The Texas Lottery also notes that scratch ticket games may begin closing procedures for documented business reasons, including when all top prizes have been claimed. Tickets may continue to be sold during closing procedures, even if no top prizes remain.

Texas Lottery Revenue Supports Public Education and Veterans Programs

While a $1 million winning ticket tends to attract attention, the Texas Lottery also plays a role in funding public education and veterans programs throughout the state.

Since the first ticket was sold in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated more than $43 billion in revenue for Texas and distributed more than $99 billion in prizes to lottery players.

Since 1997, more than $37 billion has been contributed to the Foundation School Fund, which helps support public education across Texas, including school districts serving families in San Antonio, Greater Houston and communities throughout the state.

Certain lottery revenues also support the Fund for Veterans' Assistance. Since the first veterans-themed scratch ticket launched in 2009, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $311 million toward programs benefiting Texas veterans.

The Texas Lottery's functions and activities are administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the state agency responsible for regulating numerous professions, occupations and industries.

In addition to scratch ticket games like Casino Millions, the Texas Lottery offers Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto Texas, All or Nothing, Texas Two Step, Pick 3, Daily 4 and Cash Five.

How to Check Remaining Texas Lottery Scratch Ticket Prizes

For residents interested in checking whether Casino Millions or another Texas Lottery scratch ticket game still has major prizes available, the official Texas Lottery website provides updated information on prizes claimed and remaining.

Players should remember that the number of unclaimed prizes does not guarantee that a particular retailer has winning tickets available, and no purchase guarantees a return.

For the latest information, visit texaslottery.com or call 1-800-375-6886.

Texas Lottery tickets can only be purchased by individuals age 18 or older, and players are encouraged to play responsibly.

For one San Antonio resident, a $50 scratch ticket has now become a $1 million prize. And for the neighborhood H-E-B that sold it, the winning ticket could bring a bonus of its own.
