The calendar says fall is almost here, even if San Antonio's afternoon temperatures have not quite gotten the message.

Across the region, pumpkins are beginning to arrive on church lawns, farms and public spaces, bringing with them one of South Texas' most familiar seasonal traditions. Some pumpkin patches are simple neighborhood stops where families can choose a pumpkin, snap a few photos and head home. Others turn the experience into a full day with corn mazes, hayrides, farm animals, games, food and live entertainment.

For families searching for San Antonio pumpkin patches, pumpkin patches near San Antonio or fall activities for kids in South Texas, the 2026 season reaches from the heart of the city to Universal City, Helotes, Bulverde, Pipe Creek, Hondo, Devine, Seguin and New Braunfels.

Here are some of the pumpkin patches scheduled across the greater San Antonio region this fall.

Devine Acres Farm Brings Back Fall CountryFest

When: Sept. 26 through Nov. 1

About an hour southwest of downtown San Antonio, Devine Acres Farm is once again turning its farm into a large-scale fall destination.

Fall CountryFest opens Sept. 26 with more than 50 attractions, seasonal displays, pumpkin-filled photo opportunities, farm animals, live entertainment and plenty of food. Visitors can also explore the farm's Seasonal Stroll, which features hanging pumpkins, floral displays and additional photo spots.

For families making a day of it, Devine Acres offers a mix of play areas, agricultural experiences and seasonal treats. Children age 2 and younger are admitted free, and purchasing admission online in advance is less expensive than buying tickets at the gate.

It is one of the area's larger options for families looking for a pumpkin patch near San Antonio with activities that can fill several hours.

South Texas Maize Opens Sept. 26 at Graff 7A Ranch

When: Beginning Sept. 26

For families who want to turn pumpkin picking into a full fall outing, South Texas Maize at Graff 7A Ranch remains one of the biggest seasonal destinations west of San Antonio.

The working ranch features an 8-acre corn maze, a three-acre pumpkin patch, hayrides, large slides, a zipline, children's attractions, food and other activities included with general fall admission. 

One important change for 2026: the ranch originally planned to open Sept. 19 but postponed opening day until Sept. 26 because of extreme heat conditions. 

Weekend hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Friday hours, from 6 to 9 p.m., begin in October and continue into November. The grounds remain open one hour beyond admission hours on those days.

South Texas Maize has been part of fall at Graff 7A Ranch since 2001, making the drive to Hondo a familiar autumn tradition for many San Antonio-area families.

Owl Creek Farm Offers Pumpkin Fun on San Antonio's West Side

Families who would rather stay inside San Antonio can head to Owl Creek Farm, where the seasonal experience includes pumpkins alongside a petting zoo, hayrides, pony rides and outdoor play areas.

The farm lists a $10 general admission price, while its online booking system currently shows a slightly higher total after online charges. Because hours may change with weather or seasonal scheduling, families should check directly with the farm before leaving home. 

Its location near the Military Drive and Loop 1604 corridor makes Owl Creek one of the more convenient pumpkin patch options for families on San Antonio's far West Side.

Good News Pumpkin Patch Brings Fall to South San Antonio

The Good News Pumpkin Patch gives families on San Antonio's South Side a close-to-home option for pumpkins, photos and community activities.

Current 2026 event listings show the patch operating from Sept. 27 through Oct. 25. Special events include a Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 4, National Night Out on Oct. 6 and Market Days on Oct. 10 and 11 and again Oct. 24 and 25. The market weekends are expected to bring together about 25 vendors. 

The patch is free to enter, making it an accessible option for families who want a seasonal outing without purchasing admission to a larger farm attraction.

Universal City Pumpkin Patch Offers a Month of Free Fall Fun

When: Oct. 2 through Oct. 30

The Universal City Pumpkin Patch returns in October with free admission, free parking and a full month of community activities.

The patch is located in the field behind the Universal City Fire Department and is supported by more than 27 nonprofit organizations. Visitors can browse pumpkins, take family photos and return throughout the month for themed events and activities. Well-behaved, leashed pets are also welcome. 

Regular hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The patch will also be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Columbus Day.

For families in Universal City, Live Oak, Converse, Schertz, Cibolo and northeast San Antonio, this is one of the region's easiest free fall outings.

Pipe Creek Pumpkin Patch Offers a Hill Country Farm Experience

When: Oct. 3 and 4, Oct. 10 and 11, Oct. 17 and 18, Oct. 24 and 25, and Oct. 31

Admission: $9 per person, children age 2 and younger free

Northwest of San Antonio, the Pipe Creek Pumpkin Patch returns to Pipe Creek Christmas Tree Farm for five weekends in October.

Admission includes a hayride, haystack, hop balls, scarecrow dressing, visits with farm animals, a large sandbox, rubber duck races, photo spots and the chance to walk among about 6,000 Christmas trees. A kiddie barrel train and pumpkin painting are available for an additional charge. 

The patch is geared primarily toward children age 10 and younger and is open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on scheduled dates, with the entrance gate closing at 5 p.m.

The pumpkin patch began in 2010, while the Christmas tree farm has been operated by the same family since 1994. 

Bulverde Pumpkin Patch Opens Throughout October

For families heading north from San Antonio, Bulverde Pumpkin Patch offers another option along the Highway 281 and Hill Country corridor.

The patch is scheduled to operate every day in October, from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday. It will also operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Columbus Day.

Its admission setup is different from many other pumpkin patches. The farm charges a $30 membership fee per vehicle, regardless of the number of occupants, and that membership provides access for the remainder of October at no additional admission charge. Pumpkins and vendor purchases cost extra.

Included activities feature games, photo opportunities, a hayride, hay bale maze and the patch's distinctive monster truck school bus ride.

Because rain can leave the working ranch too muddy for visitors, organizers recommend checking for weather-related closures before making the trip. 

Helotes Hills UMC Continues a Longtime Pumpkin Tradition

Families on San Antonio's Northwest Side can keep their pumpkin outing local at Helotes Hills United Methodist Church.

The church's pumpkin patch features carving pumpkins, decorative pumpkins, baking pumpkins, specialty gourds and mini pumpkins, with prices beginning at $1 and varying by size. Families can also find seasonal photo stations and pumpkin bread made by church volunteers.

Pumpkin sales help support local charities, church ministries and other community work connected to the congregation.

The church lists the patch as continuing through Nov. 1 or until pumpkins sell out, so late-season visitors may want to confirm availability before heading over. 

Northwest Hills Global Methodist Church Opens Oct. 5

Another Northwest San Antonio pumpkin tradition returns at Northwest Hills Global Methodist Church.

Current 2026 listings show the patch operating from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

The church sits along Tezel Road, making it a convenient stop for families in Northwest San Antonio, Leon Valley and nearby neighborhoods who want pumpkins and seasonal photos without making a longer drive into the Hill Country.

Tower of the Americas Brings a Pumpkin Patch Downtown

Not every San Antonio pumpkin patch is found on a farm or church lawn.

The Tower of the Americas is bringing its Fall Pumpkin Patch back to downtown San Antonio from Oct. 5 through Nov. 15.

The free attraction will feature autumn displays and seasonal photo setups, with pumpkins available for purchase while supplies last. The patch will be accessible daily during the Tower's regular operating hours.

For families already planning a trip to Hemisfair, the River Walk or downtown San Antonio, it can easily be added to a larger day out.

Alamo Heights UMC Pumpkin Patch Opens Oct. 10

The annual Alamo Heights United Methodist ChurchPumpkin Patch returns Oct. 10 near the Quarry Market.

The church describes the patch as a place to gather with friends, take seasonal family photos and shop for pumpkins throughout October. The patch is scheduled to remain open through Halloween. 

The convenient central location makes it an easy pumpkin stop for residents of Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, Olmos Park and nearby San Antonio neighborhoods.

Bracken Church's Pumpkin Tradition Has More Than Two Decades of History

Near the San Antonio, Schertz and Cibolo area, Bracken Church has been welcoming families to its pumpkin patch for more than two decades.

The tradition began in 2002 and expanded over the years to include educational experiences, hayrides and children's activities. The church says the patch has served families from Bracken, Cibolo, Schertz, San Antonio and surrounding communities for more than 20 years. 

Current 2026 listings show the patch open from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 31.

Oxford UMC Adds Movies, Hayrides and Special Events

The Oxford UMC Pumpkin Patch gives families several reasons to return throughout October.

Patch hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Special activities currently scheduled for 2026 include Friday movie nights, a craft fair on Oct. 17 and a petting zoo and Trunk-n-Treat on Oct. 24. Hayrides are also scheduled on weekend evenings.

For families around the Medical Center, Leon Valley and northwest San Antonio, it is one of the area's more activity-filled neighborhood pumpkin patches.

Braune Farms Offers a Real Pumpkin Patch in Seguin

When: Oct. 10 and 11, Oct. 17 and 18, and Oct. 24 and 25

For families interested in walking through an actual growing field rather than a display of delivered pumpkins, Braune Farms Fresh Produce offers a different kind of experience.

The family-run working farm invites visitors to walk through rows of pumpkin vines and select a pumpkin in the field. Admission includes a hayride and most activities, while pumpkins are priced separately by size. 

The 2026 pumpkin patch will operate from noon to 4 p.m. on three weekends: Oct. 10 and 11, Oct. 17 and 18, and Oct. 24 and 25. 

Organizers recommend closed-toe shoes since visitors will be walking through a real farm field.

First Methodist Church Seguin Opens Its Pumpkin Patch Oct. 3

Families spending time in Seguin during October can also stop at the First Methodist Church Seguin Pumpkin Patch.

Visitors can expect pumpkins in a range of sizes, colors and varieties in a traditional church-lawn setting.

First UMC New Braunfels Continues a Longstanding Fall Tradition

The First United Methodist Church New Braunfels Pumpkin Patch is another longstanding option for families willing to make the drive north from San Antonio.

The church says its 2026 patch will once again welcome visitors to select pumpkins and squash and take fall photos. Its current pumpkin patch information lists daily hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Halloween, while the church notes that public availability can depend on having enough volunteers to staff the patch. 

Traveling Loaves & Fishes Turns Pumpkin Sales Into Community Support

The annual pumpkin patch organized by Traveling Loaves & Fishes adds a charitable purpose to the traditional fall outing.

The San Antonio nonprofit says its 2026 patch will operate every weekend in October, with pumpkins, family activities, seasonal photo opportunities and special events throughout the month. Proceeds from pumpkin and ticket sales help support the organization's work providing meals and assistance to people facing food insecurity and homelessness.

Because the organization's current event information does not clearly publish a street address for the 2026 patch, families should confirm the location before visiting rather than relying on an older map listing.
