Robotics Teams Qualify for Regional Championship

CFISD welcomed 47 teams from the Greater Houston area to compete in the Bridgeland High School VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) Over Under Open on Jan. 20 at the Berry Center.

Three CFISD robotics teams earned awards in the competition, while two of them qualified for the Texas VRC High School Region 3 Championship.

Bridgeland High School team No. 77786B, nOSHA, won the Excellence Award, the highest judges award given out at the tournament, to qualify for regionals. Team members are Thad Rauch, Joshua Holmes, Robert Mock, Stephen (Wyatt) Conger and Donovan Bechi. The team adviser is Devin Murphy.

Cy-Fair High School team No. 78705A, BFND, won the Design Award to qualify for regionals. Team members are Khalil Hayden, Griffin Colburn, Emma VickSebastian Cuevas and Sean Partridge. The team adviser is Sean Finn.

Cypress Ridge High School team No. 16329A, Fire, won the Judges Award. Team members are Alejandro Castillo, Oswaldo Tovar, Daniel Walker and Andrew Catchings. The team adviser is Jessie Vo.

The Texas VRC High School Region 3 Championship will be held Feb. 23-24 at the Learner Support Center in Clear Creek ISD.
