June 12 2026

As the United States prepares to mark 250 years of independence in 2026, Williamson County is inviting residents to come together for an afternoon of history, entertainment, and community celebration at a special America250 Birthday Bash in Round Rock.

The free event, scheduled for Sunday, June 14, from 1 to 4 p.m., will take place at the Old Settlers Association, located at 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd. The celebration offers families an opportunity to commemorate the nation's semiquincentennial while enjoying activities designed to connect generations through history, culture, and community pride.

For Williamson County residents, the event represents more than a birthday party. It serves as a chance to reflect on the nation's history while creating new memories with neighbors, friends, and family members in one of the county's most historic gathering places.

Family-Friendly Fun Planned for All Ages

Organizers have assembled a wide variety of attractions aimed at making history both engaging and accessible. Visitors can enjoy free cupcakes and ice cream while supplies last, with additional food and refreshments available for purchase from onsite food trucks.

Entertainment throughout the afternoon will include performances and activities inspired by America's colonial era, offering attendees a glimpse into the nation's early years. Scheduled attractions include:

  • A Sock Monkey Circus puppet show
  • Free balloon figures
  • Colonial-era dancers
  • Sun City Georgettes performances
  • Sun City Singers performances
  • Patriotic face painting
  • Colonial-era reenactors

A Community-Wide Effort to Honor America's 250th Anniversary

The America250 Family Celebration is being hosted through a partnership among Williamson County, the Williamson Museum, and the Alexander Hamilton Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Additional support comes from several local chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution, including the Daniel Coleman Chapter in Georgetown, the Robert Gilbert Livingston Chapter in Georgetown, and the San Gabriel Chapter in Cedar Park.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to preserving local and national history while creating opportunities for residents to engage with the stories and traditions that have shaped both Williamson County and the nation.

Why America250 Matters

The nationwide America250 initiative commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Communities across the country are planning events leading up to the milestone anniversary, creating opportunities for education, reflection, and civic engagement.

In Williamson County, the June 14 celebration offers an early opportunity for residents to participate in that historic milestone while supporting local organizations dedicated to preserving history and strengthening community connections.

What Residents Should Know

The Williamson County America250 Birthday Bash is free and open to the public.

Community members interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact Williamson County Public Affairs or the Williamson Museum for additional information.

As America approaches its 250th birthday, Williamson County's celebration offers residents a chance to gather, learn, and celebrate a milestone that continues to shape communities across Texas and the nation.
