Jarrell National Night Out 2026 is set for Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Jarrell Middle School, 101 E. Avenue F in Jarrell. The evening will bring together the Jarrell Police Department, Jarrell ISD, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and Jarrell Fire and Rescue/ESD5 for a family-friendly gathering built around community connections and public safety.

Organizers have packed the evening with activities designed to give children plenty to do while creating an informal setting for residents to meet local first responders.

Planned attractions include a touch-a-truck experience, bounce house, face painting, dunk tank, games and food.

Parents can also use the evening to introduce their children to local officers and firefighters and help them become more familiar with the people and equipment involved in keeping Jarrell safe.

National Night Out is a nationwide community-building campaign focused on strengthening relationships between law enforcement agencies and the neighborhoods they serve. The National Association of Town Watch launched the campaign in 1984, when approximately 2.5 million people in 400 communities across 23 states participated. It has since grown into an annual tradition involving communities across the country.

While National Night Out is generally observed nationally in August, Texas and some other areas traditionally hold their celebrations in the fall. The broader goal remains the same: creating opportunities for residents and public safety professionals to interact under positive circumstances while strengthening neighborhood relationships.

In a growing community such as Jarrell, events like this can also provide something increasingly valuable: an easy opportunity for longtime residents and newer neighbors to meet one another.
