Remember and Honor: Where to Celebrate Memorial Day

Memorial Day, a federal holiday in the United States commemorated on the last Monday of May, is a day of remembrance for the brave men and women who have given their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Originally known as Decoration Day following the Civil War, it became an official federal holiday in 1971 to honor those who have died while serving our country.
In keeping with this tradition, several Memorial Day events are scheduled in and around our local area, giving residents several opportunities to pay their respects for our fallen heroes. With commemorations scheduled in Cypress, Katy, Sugar Land, Houston, Spring, The Woodlands and Conroe, there are plenty of convenient options across the Greater Houston Area.
Memorial Day Murph by CrossFit Equality in Jersey Village
When: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 7:00AM, 8:00AM, and 9:00AM
Where: CrossFit Equality at 9526-B Jones Rd., Houston, TX, 77065
This event honors those who have fallen in service by inviting participants to complete the "Murph" workout. It's an occasion that combines respect, humility, and the honor of a man who gave everything he had. Everyone is welcome and food and drinks will be available post-workout. Memorial Day Ceremony Hosted by Harris County Precinct 4

VFW Memorial Day Celebration in Cypress

Bridgeland Memorial Day Observance in Cypress
When: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM
Where: Pioneer Park in Bridgeland at 16902 Bridgeland Landing Dr, Cypress, TX 77433
All are welcome to join Bridgeland Community Supports Veterans to respectfully honor our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day, where attendees will tie ribbons with the names of our loved ones around the trees in the park, remember the fallen, pray, and play taps.
Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony in Katy
When: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM
Where: Katy Magnolia Cemetery at 6801 Franz Road, Katy, TX 77493

Remember and Honor Memorial Day Ceremony in Fulshear

This ceremony is hosted by the Brazos River Rotary Club, the Fulshear-Simonton Lions Club, and the Fulshear Katy Area Chamber of Commerce to remember and honor those who made the greatest sacrifice for our Constitution and liberty. 4th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Day Bash in Richmond

Memorial Day Ceremony at Memorial Park in Sugar Land
When: Monday, May 27, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Where: Sugar Land Memorial Park at 15300 University Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479
This annual ceremony includes patriotic music, a military flyover, speeches by distinguished speakers, a tribute to fallen soldiers, and presentations by the Sugar Land Police Department Honor Guard. Honoring Soldier's Rest at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery

Memorial Day Commemoration at Houston National Cemetery

2nd Annual Memorial Day Hero WOD

Memorial Day at Town Green Park in The Woodlands

Memorial Day Observance and Dedication of The Line in Conroe

The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission invites the community to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Seating will be provided under the tent, with parking located across the street at the park and ride lot.
