Quarry Splash Pad Reopens for Summer Fun at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park

June 01 2026

As temperatures begin climbing across Central Texas, families in Williamson County have a popular destination once again for cooling off, gathering with friends, and making summer memories.

The Quarry Splash Pad at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park officially opened for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 23, welcoming residents and visitors to its two-acre water play area in Leander. Located at 3005 Co Rd 175, Leander, TX 78641, the splash pad offers an affordable outdoor recreation option for families throughout the summer months, operating through Sept. 7.

For many local families, accessible outdoor amenities like the Quarry Splash Pad provide more than just relief from the Texas heat. They create opportunities for children to stay active, friends and neighbors to connect, and families to enjoy quality time together without traveling far from home.

Affordable Family Entertainment in Williamson County

The Quarry Splash Pad is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $2 per person for both children and adults, making it one of the more budget-friendly family attractions in the Leander area.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of water features, including water cannons, waterfalls, and interactive water jets. A nearby sand play area offers additional entertainment for younger children.

Because the facility utilizes a recirculating water system, there is no standing water and no lifeguard on duty. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise children at all times.

The splash pad is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the exception of Memorial Day and Labor Day, when it will be open to accommodate holiday visitors.

Cashless Payments and Visitor Guidelines

Guests planning a visit should note that the Quarry Splash Pad operates as a cashless facility. Admission payments are accepted electronically using most major credit and debit cards, excluding American Express, as well as digital payment platforms such as Google Pay.

To help maintain the facility and ensure a safe experience for all visitors, park officials have established several guidelines:

  • Food is permitted, but glass containers are prohibited.
  • Alcohol, tobacco products, and smoking are not allowed.
  • Pets are prohibited, with the exception of service animals.
  • Water balloons, piñatas, confetti, silly string, and sidewalk chalk are not permitted because they can damage the splash pad's recirculating pump system.
  • Climbing on rocks, skateboards, and bicycles is prohibited in water play areas.
  • Guests are asked to clean up after events and remove decorations such as tape, ribbon, and string.

Pavilion Rentals Available for Parties and Group Events

The Quarry Splash Pad remains a popular destination for birthday parties, summer camps, daycare groups, church gatherings, and family celebrations.

Groups larger than 20 people are generally required to reserve a pavilion to accommodate guests and belongings. Reservations can be made online or by contacting the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park office at 512-943-1920 during regular business hours.

Two smaller pavilions, Pebble North and Pebble South, each accommodate up to 24 guests and are available for half-day rentals. Two larger pavilions, Boulder East and Boulder West, can accommodate up to 72 guests and include electricity and grill access.

An exception allows groups of 20 or more without a pavilion reservation on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Parking Information for Larger Groups

Families arriving in standard passenger vehicles can utilize the designated splash pad parking area. Larger vehicles and buses should drop off guests before parking in the nearby softball field parking lot. Mini-buses may park across from the large pavilion area.

What Happens Next

The Quarry Splash Pad will remain open through Labor Day, providing a seasonal gathering place for families across Leander, Cedar Park, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, and surrounding Williamson County communities.

As summer activities ramp up across the region, the splash pad continues to serve as one of the area's most affordable family recreation destinations, offering a simple way to stay cool, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors close to home.
