Harris County Precinct 4 will be hosting several enriching activities during the month of February. From financial workshops to guided nature walks, there's something for everyone. Check out the listing below to see what your HCP4 has in store next month and mark your calendar today!
 
 

Movie Day at Bayland 

Wednesday, Feb. 1 @ 11:00 AM 
Sit back and enjoy the 1959 classic “Some Like it Hot,” directed by Billy Wilder and starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. Registration is required. A light snack and refreshments will be available. For more information, visit http://hcp4.net/bayland.
 
 

Birding Bus Trips Sign-Up

Wednesday, Feb. 1 – Registration Opens
Sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis. Transportation is provided for individuals 50 and older through Harris County Precinct 4. The bus will pick up and drop off participants at the parking lot on Draper Road. Email klebwoods@hcp4.net or call 281-357-5324 to sign up for the following trips:
  • Friday, Feb. 17 @ 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM >> Gannets on the Coast. Join us as we head to Surfside Beach to look for northern gannets and other coastal birds. Lunch TBD.
  • Friday, March 24 @ 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM >> Boykin Springs. Join us to search for Bachman’s sparrow, prairie warbler, red-cockaded woodpecker, and more. Picnic lunch.
 

Financial Workshop “Long Term Goals”

Friday, Feb. 3 @ 1:30 – 3:00 PM
The first in a series of financial topics presented by a center volunteer, this particular topic, "Long Term Goals," will cover the following points: pensions, IRAs, Roth IRAs, annuities, rollover options and understanding the tax impacts of these tools and others. A Closer Look at Nature: Nature Journaling

Wednesday, Feb. 8 @ 2:00 – 3:00 PM or Saturday, Feb. 11 @ 10:00 – 11:00 AM
All are welcome at this program designed especially for school-aged children. Each class includes a 30-minute presentation followed by an activity. Registration is required and space is limited. Miniature Golf

Mondays - Fridays from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturdays from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM  |  Sundays from 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
The miniature golf course is open to the public. Clubs and balls are available in the front lobby. Players must check in with staff at the front desk. Can You Hear Me Now?

Thursday, Feb. 16 @ 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Are you turning up the TV a little too loud? Does everyone seem to mumble? You could be one of the 48 million Americans living with hearing loss. The goal of this class is to share a few golden principles and practices to help you, or someone you love, move toward increasing quality of life. Spouses and significant others are welcome. You will leave the class with strategies for living life with hearing loss, and a better understanding of how hearing health is an essential tool for aging. Valentine’s Potluck and Concert

Thursday, Feb. 16 @ 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Please bring a dish to share with other Glazier members. Sign up in advance for the dish you wish to bring. The potluck will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., we will hear from the fabulous one-man band, Vince. Market Outlook 2023

Join Mindy as she gives an overview of what the new year can bring, financially. Could 2023 bring a return to a more promising market environment as global economies reset?
