Portillo's 'Restaurant of the Future' Coming to Houston's Willowbrook Mall
Get ready Houston, as Portillo's, the Chicago-based restaurant famed for its hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches, is all set to open its new 'Restaurant of the Future' at Willowbrook Mall later this year.
Known for its menu that beats with the pulse of Chicago street food, Portillo's is friendly nostalgia on a plate. The new restaurant at Willowbrook will be no different, offering a signature menu of Chicago-style hot dogs, famous Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, and their Famous Chocolate Cake, among others.
"The smaller, efficient build will offer seating for about 130 guests inside and seats for nearly 40 guests on a seasonal outdoor patio," the company announced in a recent press release. Apart from the indoor and outdoor seating, the new Portillo's location will also feature the brand’s signature double drive-thru lanes and dedicated pick-up shelves for take-out orders, ensuring guests can enjoy their food wherever they feel most comfortable.

Portillo's has been serving up hearty, flavorful meals since its founding as a hot dog stand in Villa Park, Illinois, in 1963. Over fifty years later, the brand has grown, expanding its offerings while retaining its roots in original recipes and flavorful, classic comfort food. Today, Portillo's has multiple locations across the U.S., each reprising the same classic menu and commitment to quality that made the original hot dog stand a crowd favorite.
"We’re bun-believably excited to announce plans for one of Portillo’s first Restaurant of the Future builds," the press release stated, reflecting the brand's enthusiasm for this latest expansion.
