Pokemoto Now Open in Spring
In a bold fusion of culinary cultures, the New England-based Pokémoto has recently set up shop in Spring, Texas, bringing a taste of traditional Hawaiian poké to the area.
The brainchild of Thomas Nguyen, Pokémoto first sprouted its roots in 2017, in a shop across from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. After falling in love with poké during a stint in Hawaii, Nguyen noticed a glaring gap in the New England market. Despite the region's reputation for delectable seafood, poké was sorely missing. Nguyen seized the opportunity, and the first Pokémoto was born to great acclaim. Today, there are approximately 36 Pokémoto locations across the U.S., with more in the works.
Poké, a staple of Hawaiian cuisine, typically features diced fresh fish served as a starter or main course. However, Pokémoto's offerings reflect modern adaptations, incorporating influences from Japanese and Korean cuisine. The selection, much akin to deconstructed sushi, includes a variety of proteins such as chicken, tofu, shrimp, and salmon. The customizable menu lets customers create their combinations with their desired mix-ins, toppings, crunches, and sauces, served as a bowl, salad, or wrap.
The Spring store is conveniently located at 2174 Spring Stuebner Road in unit 320, ready to serve foodies between 10AM and 9PM every day.
