Pearl Fincher MFA Partners with Local Theatre Company to Host Visual and Theatre Arts Camp This Summer
The Pearl Fincher Museum is partnering this summer with Troupe d' Jour's Midsummer Shakespeare Company on a two-week, all-day visual and theater arts camp where campers will explore visual storytelling, performance art and theatrical skills.
Campers will create art from hands-on visual art lessons inspired by expressionism and visual performance artists. Campers will then split into groups, lead by acting coaches, as they participate in fun exercises focused on text analysis, voice and diction, body and movement, solo and ensemble acting. The week will culminate in an adaptation of Shakespeare performed by the campers for friends and family.
Troupe d’ Jour, an educational theatre company based in Houston, has served more than 60,000 students and teachers per academic year for nearly three decades.
