Olive Garden Planning New Kyle Restaurant Near Sunset Oaks
For families who can usually agree on pasta even when they cannot agree on much else for dinner, a familiar option is headed to Kyle.
Olive Garden is planning a new restaurant at 19865 I-35, according to project information filed with the state.
This will not be a small restaurant tucked into an existing shopping center. Plans describe a 7,828-square-foot, full-service restaurant with parking, landscaping and supporting site improvements. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in June 2027 and continue through December of that year, putting the project a little farther out than some of the other new restaurants taking shape around Kyle.
Olive Garden has been part of the American casual-dining landscape since its first restaurant opened in Orlando in 1982. Pasta remains at the heart of the menu, with familiar choices including Chicken Alfredo, lasagna and other Italian-inspired entrées. Soup or salad and Never-Ending breadsticks have also become such a recognizable part of the Olive Garden meal that, for many diners, they are nearly as much of a draw as the entrée itself. The restaurant also offers family-style meals, lunch options, desserts and catering.
That familiarity is part of what could make the Kyle location useful for families. It is the kind of restaurant that can work for a birthday dinner, a meal after a long day of errands or simply one of those evenings when Sunset Oaks families want to take a break from cooking dinner at home.
Its location directly along I-35 also puts the proposed restaurant on a corridor many area residents already travel. For Sunset Oaks households heading into Kyle for shopping, appointments or activities, Olive Garden could eventually become another easy stop to add to the trip rather than a destination requiring a separate drive.
There is plenty of time before anyone starts passing around the breadsticks. Construction is not scheduled to begin until 2027, and Olive Garden has not announced an opening date for the Kyle restaurant. For now, the filing offers an early look at a recognizable restaurant name preparing to join Kyle’s growing dining scene.
