Oak Park Trails Residents Invited to Step Up as a Board Candidate Ahead of February Annual Meeting
Oak Park Trails residents are invited to consider serving on their Highland Knolls Community Association Board of Directors, as the HOA is now accepting candidates for its 2026 board election. Serving on the board offers homeowners a meaningful opportunity to have a voice in neighborhood decisions and help guide the future of Oak Park Trails.
Serving on a neighborhood board is one of the most direct ways residents can make a positive impact, and the Highland Knolls Community Association is now welcoming candidates who are interested in contributing their time, perspective, and care for the community.
What Residents Should Know About the Highland Knolls Board Election
The board election will take place during the Highland Knolls Community Association Annual Meeting of Members on February 26, 2026, held in person at Hayes Elementary School. At the meeting, residents will vote to fill two open board positions, each with a three-year term.
Board members play an important role behind the scenes, helping oversee association business, working through homeowner concerns, and supporting projects that keep the neighborhood running smoothly. It’s a commitment that requires time and attention, but it’s also a rewarding way to give back and stay closely connected to the community.

How to Submit a Candidacy and Important Dates to Remember
Homeowners who are interested in running must submit a Candidate Information Form by Monday, January 19, 2026. Forms may be returned by mail, email, or fax, and candidates who meet eligibility requirements under Texas Property Code will be placed on the official ballot. Optional candidate responses may be shared with residents ahead of the annual meeting to help voters get to know those running.
Texas law does include a few basic guidelines for board service, including restrictions related to prior felony convictions and limits on multiple board members living at the same residence. Candidates should also be prepared to attend board meetings regularly and dedicate time each week to association matters.
Oak Park Trails residents who would like to review the official solicitation of candidates or learn more about what board service involves can find the full notice here. Active participation in the Highland Knolls Community Association helps shape decisions that directly impact daily life in Oak Park Trails, and the community appreciates residents who are willing to consider serving.
