New Rehabilitation Hospital Coming to Spring Will Expand Stroke and Neurological Recovery Care by 2027
A brand-new, state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital is set to break ground in early 2026 right in the heart of Spring, Texas, bringing much-needed inpatient care for those recovering from serious injuries and illnesses.
St. Luke’s Health, a trusted name in healthcare across Greater Houston, is partnering with Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a national leader in post-acute recovery services, to open a 58,000-square-foot inpatient rehab hospital featuring 40 private rooms on the Springwoods Village Hospital campus.
The goal? To expand access to intensive, specialized care for adults recovering from stroke, neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, and other life-changing conditions—right here in one of the fastest-growing areas of Northwest Houston.
“This expansion of our ministry will allow St. Luke’s Health to bring excellent inpatient rehabilitation care with humankindness to one of the fastest growing areas of Greater Houston,” said Michael Lawson, Houston Market President of St. Luke’s Health.

Patients at the new facility will receive around-the-clock medical care and advanced therapies including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The hospital is designed to support full-spectrum healing—focusing not just on medical recovery, but on helping individuals reclaim independence and quality of life after serious health setbacks.
Once construction wraps up in Spring 2027, Lifepoint Rehabilitation will oversee the hospital’s daily operations. With over 45 inpatient rehab hospitals and 250 outpatient and hospital-based therapy programs nationwide, Lifepoint brings deep expertise in helping patients transition from hospital to home with confidence and support.
“We know our partners at St. Luke’s Health share Lifepoint Rehabilitation’s commitment to patient-centered specialty care,” said Russ Bailey, president of Lifepoint Rehabilitation. “Through our continued investment in leading-edge technology and advancement of evidence-driven therapy models, we remain focused on restoring our patients to their daily lives in good health.”
This new facility in Spring, TX is part of a broader mission shared by both organizations to improve access to whole-person care throughout the Greater Houston area. St. Luke’s Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, currently operates eight hospitals across the region, including the renowned Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and the nationally accredited Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center.

As the population continues to grow across Montgomery and Harris counties, this investment reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that specialized care is never out of reach.
