New Panther Stadium Scoreboard Lights Up Medina Valley High School Ahead of Football Season
For Medina Valley High School families, Friday nights at Panther Stadium are getting a noticeable upgrade.
Medina Valley ISD has completed installation of a new digital scoreboard at the stadium, giving Panther Nation a fresh centerpiece as the 2026 football season gets underway. The project was funded through the district’s 2024 bond program and is part of a larger effort to update athletic facilities serving students, families and the Medina Valley community.
New Scoreboard Is Part of Bond 2024 Stadium Improvements
The scoreboard falls under Proposition B of Medina Valley ISD’s $290 million Bond 2024 package. Voters approved Proposition B, valued at $40.85 million, to fund stadium improvements at Medina Valley High School and the district’s second high school. District officials have emphasized that the new Panther Stadium scoreboard is only one piece of the broader stadium improvement work planned through the bond.
The upgrade also arrives during a period of significant change across Medina Valley ISD. The district says enrollment has been growing by roughly 10% to 15% annually and now stands at about 10,500 students across 10 campuses. Along with athletic improvements, bond-funded construction includes new schools, safety and security projects and additional facilities intended to keep pace with growth across the Castroville, LaCoste and surrounding Medina Valley area.
For students, the scoreboard will be most visible under the Friday night lights, but Panther Stadium serves more than football alone. Games and school events bring together athletes, band members, cheerleaders, student groups, parents, alumni and longtime supporters, making the facility one of the district’s most recognizable gathering places. The new scoreboard gives those events an updated backdrop while offering residents another visible example of Bond 2024 dollars moving from the ballot box into completed projects.
