New Caney ISD Celebrates Class of 2026 Top 10 Students Across Four High Schools
As the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, New Caney ISD is recognizing the Top 10 students from Infinity Early College High School, New Caney High School, Porter High School and West Fork High School — a group of seniors whose academic achievements and personal stories highlight both individual determination and the impact of the educators and families who helped guide them along the way.
For families across New Caney, Porter, Valley Ranch and surrounding Montgomery County communities, the annual recognition offers more than a list of names and GPAs. It reflects the growing opportunities available to local students and the culture of encouragement that continues to shape campuses throughout the district.
Many of the graduates will attend major Texas universities including Texas A&M University, The University of Texas at Austin, University of Houston and Texas Tech University, while others are pursuing careers in healthcare, engineering, education, business, public service and the military.
Students Reflect on the Teachers Who Helped Shape Their Journeys
One theme echoed repeatedly throughout the students’ reflections was the lasting influence of teachers who encouraged them to believe in themselves during difficult moments.
At Infinity Early College High School, valedictorian Daniela Uchima credited Mrs. Storm with helping her discover both her confidence and passion for engineering. Uchima plans to attend Texas A&M University to study mechanical engineering.
New Caney High School valedictorian Reagan Beard shared that teachers Mr. Russell and Ms. Fernandez helped shape her academically and personally by encouraging deeper thinking while also teaching empathy and compassion.
Porter High School salutatorian Avery Evans-Pickens reflected on the support she received from Mrs. Terry throughout high school, while West Fork High School valedictorian Joseph Alcantar described graphic design teacher Mr. Kang as someone who inspired him to pursue a creative career path professionally.
Across all four campuses, students repeatedly pointed to educators who created safe spaces, challenged them academically and reminded them that growth often comes through perseverance.
Advice to Younger Students Focuses on Balance, Kindness and Staying Present
Along with celebrating academic success, the students also offered advice to the Class of 2027 — and much of it centered around slowing down and appreciating the experience of high school while it lasts.
Several students encouraged younger classmates to avoid procrastination, stay involved in extracurricular activities and not allow fear or outside pressure to define their future.
West Fork High School student Alex Rivera shared one of the most reflective messages, encouraging future seniors to appreciate the everyday moments that eventually become lasting memories.
Others emphasized resilience and self-confidence. Porter High School student Stephanie Hernandez encouraged students to “live in the moment,” while Infinity Early College High School student Emily Olvera reminded younger classmates to view mistakes as opportunities to grow.
The advice offered by the Class of 2026 reflects a generation of students shaped not only by academic rigor, but also by mentorship, personal challenges and strong community support systems.
A Milestone Moment for Families Across New Caney ISD
For parents, teachers and community members, the recognition of the district’s top graduates represents years of hard work both inside and outside the classroom. From dual-credit coursework and advanced academic programs to athletics, fine arts and career certifications, the students’ accomplishments also reflect the expanding educational opportunities available throughout New Caney ISD.
The district’s four high schools each showcased a diverse group of future leaders pursuing paths in medicine, engineering, business, education, biotechnology, graphic design, ministry and military service.
As graduation season continues across Montgomery County, the Class of 2026 leaves behind more than academic accolades. Their stories highlight the importance of mentorship, family support and community investment in helping students reach their goals.
New Caney ISD congratulated all Top 10 graduates from Infinity Early College High School, New Caney High School, Porter High School and West Fork High School for their achievements and leadership throughout the 2025-2026 school year.
