Nature’s Beauty and Fragility Reflected this October in Abide Art Display at LSC-CyFair
Lone Star College-CyFair’s Bosque Gallery welcomes artist Lauren Kussro with a reflection on environmental preservation in her exhibition “Abide” on display Oct. 3 – Nov. 7.
Kussro’s exhibition, including a site-specific installation, showcases intricate prints and paper sculptures inspired by the natural world, highlighting its beauty and fragility.
This artist says “Nature is bizarre but wonderful, humorous but majestic, and my work is most successful when it is able to portray a balance of that same tension … The work I generate is a response to the awe I feel when I observe – a harmony playing in tandem with nature.”
The various botanical and geological environment she’s observed throughout the years can be seen in her expressive pieces through prints, drawings, sculptures and fabric work, to name a few mediums.
To visit with Kussro about her creative process, attend the 6:30 p.m. opening reception. There will also be a 1:30 p.m. Library Art Talk Oct. 16 in the library followed by an opportunity to view her work in the Bosque Gallery.
