Açaí Brasil Brings Authentic Brazilian Bowls to Cypress with Fifth Texas Location
Açaí Brasil has officially opened its doors in Cypress, marking the brand’s fifth location in Texas and expanding its mission to bring the “true taste” of authentic Brazilian açaí bowls to local communities. The grand opening took place Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 12312 Barker Cypress Rd, Suite 1100, Cypress, TX 77429, drawing both longtime fans and first-time visitors eager to try the popular superfruit.
The Cypress shop joins existing locations in West Lake–Humble, the Energy Corridor near Katy, Kingwood, and Dallas, with new stores planned for Fulshear, The Woodlands, and Atascocita, as well as the brand’s first Arizona location in Tucson.
Owned by Brazilian couple Verena and Misael Miranda, the Houston-area Açaí Brasil locations were created with one goal: to offer what they believe is the authentic texture, flavor, and experience of açaí bowls as found in Brazil. “We are a local business owned by a Brazilian couple deeply passionate for açaí,” the founders shared. “We couldn’t find in Houston an authentic açaí bowl so we decided to start a business where we would hand craft our bowls to perfection on texture and taste.”
Açaí: A Superfood with Flavor and Benefits
Açaí berries, grown primarily in Brazil and other parts of Central and South America, are known for their deep purple hue and nutritional value. Low in sugar but rich in fiber, vitamin A, calcium, iron, and beneficial fatty acids, they also contain anthocyanins—plant compounds with antioxidant properties. Some studies have linked açaí consumption to positive effects on inflammation, heart health, and oxidative stress.

Açaí Brasil’s bowls blend the fruit with guaraná extract, another Brazilian fruit recognized for its natural energy boost, before topping it with granola, fresh fruit, peanut butter, or other add-ons. “For that being said we are the pioneers of Brazilian açaí in Houston,” Verena and Misael said. “It is an amazing feeling watching people try ‘the real’ açaí for the first time and they keep coming back for more everytime.”
A Menu for Every Taste
The Cypress location offers an extensive selection of açaí and pitaya bowls in small, medium, and large sizes with detailed calorie counts. Favorites include the fruit-filled Very Berry, decadent Choco Lover, honey-drizzled Ban Berry, creamy Brazilian Style, protein-packed Protein Power, tropical Hawaiian, and the classic Rio de Janeiro. Customers can also design their own bowl from a wide range of toppings including coconut flakes, Nutella, almond granola, chia seeds, and more.
Smoothie fans will find blends like the antioxidant-rich Berry Mix, tropical Mangolicious, and energizing Power Blend. The shop also serves fresh juices, detox blends, coconut water, and traditional Brazilian sodas. Savory Brazilian street foods such as cheese bread, coxinha, and risolles with catupiry offer a warm, snackable complement to the cold bowls.
“The secrect ingredient is just pure açaí, hard work and love for what we do,” the Mirandas said. “In the store you can also find fresh juices, Brazilian finger foods and smoothies.”

With its mix of health benefits, bold flavors, and community-minded approach, Açaí Brasil’s Cypress opening adds a fresh new dining option to the neighborhood—and a taste of Brazil to Barker Cypress Road.
