NAM Gives Toys & Food to Over 1,800 Families
By Brian Carr, Chief Advancement Officer for NAM
This holiday season, Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) made Christmas a little brighter by providing food and gifts for nearly for over 1,800 families.
Throughout the past couple of months, NAM has been collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys in the range of approximately $25 per gift for ages 0-12.
Generous toy donations have come from the individuals in the community and local businesses, including ExxonMobil, Hewlett Packard, the Conservatory at Champion Forest, Spring ISD, ABC Home & Commercial Services and dozens of others. And of course, NAM couldn’t meet its goal of spreading holiday cheer without the help of the many loyal congregations.
Each family was given a turkey dinner and gifts for the children. The meals were made possible by a generous donation from PV Fluid Products and NAM's food partner; Houston Food Bank.
Hundreds of volunteers spent hours sorting toys, filling toy bags for each individual child, unpacking food and loading cars with food and gifts. " This is such a great example of Neighbors Helping Neighbors" said Chief Advancement Officer, Brian Carr. "The community really supported this year's Season of Blessings campaign" added Carr.
