Spring ISD Hosts Free Back to School Expo August 2 at Dekaney High School
Spring Independent School District (Spring ISD) is inviting families to jumpstart the new academic year at its 2025 Back to School Expo, a free event designed to connect parents and students with essential resources for a smooth transition into the school year. The event takes place Saturday, August 2, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Dekaney High School, located at 22351 Imperial Valley Drive, Houston, TX 77073.
The annual expo offers a variety of services, including registration support, language testing, hearing and vision screenings, and even free haircuts for students. Families will also have the opportunity to meet campus staff, connect with district departments, and explore offerings from community partners—all in one convenient location.
“We are so excited to welcome our families back for a brand-new school year,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Kregg Cuellar. “The Back to School Expo is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, get the support you need, and start the year feeling confident and connected. We can’t wait to see our students back in our schools, ready to learn and thrive.”

In addition to supporting new families looking to enroll in Spring ISD schools, the event will help returning families complete the required Annual Student Update before classes begin on Tuesday, August 12. The focus is on ensuring students have everything they need on day one—whether it’s academic support, wellness screenings, or enrollment assistance.
The Back to School Expo highlights Spring ISD’s commitment to fostering a positive start for every student and strengthening community ties ahead of the busy back-to-school season.
