For residents of New Caney and the growing East Montgomery County area, there is a new option on the menu when seafood cravings strike.

Captain Crab, a Cajun seafood restaurant specializing in Louisiana-style seafood boils and Southern-inspired favorites, is now open at 20185 U.S. Highway 59, Suite 400, New Caney, TX 77357, next to La Michoacana and behind Burger King. The restaurant celebrated its soft opening on May 17 and is now welcoming guests from across New Caney, Porter, Splendora, Roman Forest, and surrounding communities.

The opening adds another locally owned dining option to one of Montgomery County's fastest-growing commercial corridors, giving residents a place to gather with family and friends while enjoying seafood favorites ranging from crawfish and shrimp to snow crab legs and po'boys.

A New Seafood Destination for New Caney

Captain Crab occupies a renovated 5,600-square-foot space along the U.S. 59 corridor, a heavily traveled area that continues to see new businesses and investment as New Caney grows.

According to project records, the restaurant underwent approximately $400,000 in interior renovations, transforming the existing space into a full-service seafood restaurant designed to accommodate families, groups, and casual diners.

The restaurant's concept centers around fresh seafood, bold Cajun seasonings, and a relaxed atmosphere where guests can roll up their sleeves and enjoy traditional seafood boils.

"Our philosophy is simple: serving fresh, high-quality seafood with bold Cajun seasonings while creating a warm and welcoming space where friends and families can gather, share great food, and make lasting memories," the restaurant states.

Why This Matters for East Montgomery County

New restaurant openings often represent more than just another place to eat. They also signal continued investment in the community, create local jobs, and add to the growing variety of dining options available close to home.

As New Caney continues to attract new residents, businesses, and development projects, locally operated restaurants like Captain Crab help expand the area's dining landscape while giving families more opportunities to support businesses within their own community.

For seafood lovers, the opening also means residents no longer need to travel as far for Cajun-style seafood boils, crawfish dishes, and Louisiana-inspired favorites.

Captain Crab Cajun Seafood Restaurant in New Caney is open Monday–Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m., Friday–Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from Noon – 9:30 p.m.
