
Nadine Scamp Named Next President & CEO of Northwest Assistance Ministries
Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) has announced that Nadine Scamp will become the next Linda & Harlan Martens Endowed President & CEO, beginning April 7, 2025. With over two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, program development, and community advocacy, Scamp brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for social services to her new role.
Scamp currently serves as the CEO of Santa Maria, a position she has held since 2014. Prior to that, she held executive leadership roles with Volunteers of America Texas, overseeing programs focused on behavioral health, re-entry, and housing services. She has dedicated her career to creating and expanding programs that build hope, healing, and purpose for individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on community stability and resiliency.
A Commitment to Community and Social Change
Scamp holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Social Workfrom the University of Houston. She has been published in peer-reviewed journals and has served on several local and statewide boards and committees, including the Network of Behavioral Health Providers Board of Directors, the Houston/Harris County Office of Drug Policy Task Force, and the Community Engagement Advisory Board for Baylor College of Medicine/University of Houston’s Consortium for Translational and Precision Health.

A longtime resident of the Spring/Klein area, Scamp is deeply rooted in the community she will serve. She is a member of Klein United Methodist Church, and her family is actively involved in local nonprofit work. Her husband, an optometrist, leads a nonprofit organization promoting access to vision care. Her three children have attended local schools, with her eldest son currently serving as a Second Lieutenant in the 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade.
Northwest Assistance Ministries' Impact
Founded in 1983, Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to helping individuals and families in crisis. Serving a 660-square-mile area in northwest Harris County, NAM provides essential services in food assistance, housing stability, domestic violence support, vocational training, and senior services.
NAM’s impact in alone 2024 included delivering 259,018 nutritious meals to homebound seniors and disabled individuals, providing groceries to 15,000 individuals, and serving 117,032 people through various programs. Additionally, over 400 survivors of family violence were brought to safety, and 50,000 hours of volunteer service were contributed to support the organization’s mission.

As Scamp steps into her role as President & CEO, she is expected to bring her expertise in program development and community engagement to further NAM’s mission of "Neighbors Helping Neighbors".
