Millsap ES, Creekwood Grill Establish Adopt-a-School PartnershipÂ
Representatives from Creekwood Grill visited the staff at Millsap Elementary School on Feb. 10 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership with the campus.
CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize resources of the community to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.
For Brian Sandel, co-owner of the restaurant, giving back to CFISD was the right move after seeing how much the community supported Creekwood Grill, which only became a full-service establishment less than four years ago.
“We received so much support from the community,” Sandel said. “It made perfect sense for Creekwood Grill and Millsap to do this partnership. That relationship is so important because the stronger the community is through education, the stronger the businesses will be and they’ll continue to build each other up. It’s a win-win on both sides.”
The official adoption is the first for Millsap. Joy Dauphin, Millsap principal, expressed her gratitude for Creekwood Grill, Sandel and the business partner’s commitment to helping play an integral part in the education process.
“We made history,” Dauphin said. “We’re so excited to partner with Creekwood Grill and look forward to many years of support for this school and this community.”
