Medina Valley ISD Back-to-School Guide: Supply Lists, Meet the Teacher Events and 2026 Prep Days
For families across Medina Valley Independent School District, the final weeks of summer are bringing a familiar mix of excitement and preparation. School supplies need to be purchased, online forms must be completed and campus events are approaching quickly as students prepare to return Wednesday, Aug. 12.
To make the process easier, Medina Valley ISD has gathered its 2026–2027 back-to-school information in one online location. The district resource includes elementary and middle school supply lists, bus registration, Meet the Teacher information and prep-day schedules for Medina Valley High School, Creek View High School, Medina Valley Middle School and Loma Alta Middle School.

Medina Valley ISD School Supply Lists Are Available
Elementary school supply lists have been posted in two campus groups.
One list covers Silos Elementary School, Ladera Elementary School and Luckey Ranch Elementary School. A second list covers Potranco Elementary School, LaCoste Elementary School and Castroville Elementary School.
Medina Valley ISD has also posted two pages of middle school supply information for families preparing students for the new year. High school students will receive their supply lists during the first week of school, allowing teachers to provide course-specific guidance after classes begin.
Reviewing the lists before shopping can help families avoid buying unnecessary items and make it easier for students to arrive with the materials requested for their grade level.
Elementary Meet the Teacher Events Set for Aug. 10
Elementary families will have an opportunity to walk their campuses, meet teachers and take care of several beginning-of-year tasks during Meet the Teacher events on Monday, Aug. 10.
Meet the Teacher will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at:
- Castroville Elementary School
- LaCoste Elementary School
- Ladera Elementary School
- Luckey Ranch Elementary School
- Potranco Elementary School
- Silos Elementary School
Campus activities vary, but families may be able to drop off school supplies and student medications, speak with counselors and purchase school spirit shirts where available. The events are also intended to give children a more comfortable first look at their classrooms before the first day of school.
Returning families should complete their annual enrollment or registration forms before attending. Students may not receive a teacher assignment until those forms are finished, and families with incomplete paperwork may be directed to a designated registration area before continuing to the Meet the Teacher activities.
That step matters for more than paperwork. Completing registration early can help campuses confirm student enrollment, finalize classroom assignments and prepare transportation and support services before Aug. 12.
Medina Valley Middle School and Loma Alta Prep Days
Medina Valley Middle School and Loma Alta Middle School will hold Back-to-School Prep Days on Aug. 5 and Aug. 6. Families are asked to attend at their assigned time based on grade level and, for sixth- and seventh-grade students, last name.
Wednesday, Aug. 5: Sixth Grade
Students with last names beginning with A through L may attend from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Students with last names beginning with M through Z may attend from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 6: Seventh and Eighth Grades
Seventh-grade students with last names beginning with A through L may attend from 2 to 3 p.m.
Seventh-grade students with last names beginning with M through Z may attend from 3 to 4 p.m.
Eighth-grade students may attend from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Parents should complete all 2026–2027 online forms before arriving. The assigned schedule is designed to help staff serve families efficiently while managing limited campus parking.
Medina Valley High School Prep Days
Medina Valley High School students will return to campus by grade level for MVHS Prep Days.
On Tuesday, Aug. 4, seniors are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by juniors from 1 to 4 p.m.
On Thursday, Aug. 6, freshmen are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by sophomores from 1 to 4 p.m.
A Panther Camp for students who are new to Medina Valley High School is also scheduled for 3 p.m. Aug. 6.
These prep days give students and families time to complete beginning-of-year tasks before regular classes begin, reducing some of the first-day pressure that can come with schedules, campus navigation and administrative requirements.
Creek View High School Opens With a Full August Schedule
Families entering the new Creek View High School community have several dates to mark down, beginning with the school’s ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 29.
Creek View High School Prep Days will begin Tuesday, Aug. 4. Juniors are scheduled for 9 a.m., while sophomores are scheduled for 1 p.m.
On Thursday, Aug. 6, freshmen are scheduled for 9 a.m. A makeup prep session for students in any grade will begin at 3 p.m.
Creek View Family Information Night is planned for 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, followed by a Creek View High School community pep rally at 7 p.m.
After the first day of school on Aug. 12, Creek View High School will host an open house at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13.
The series of events is intended to help families become familiar with the campus while establishing traditions and connections within the new school community.
Bus Registration Is Open Through Skyward
Families who need Medina Valley ISD bus transportation should complete the 2026–2027 Bus Transportation Registration Form through Skyward Family Access.
Bus registration is separate from reviewing supply lists or attending campus events. Completing the transportation form before school begins gives the district time to plan routes and confirm eligible riders.
Parents should also check Skyward and campus communications regularly. Teacher assignments, schedule updates and campus-specific instructions may be shared directly with families as the first day approaches.

Before Aug. 12, families should complete annual registration forms, register eligible students for bus transportation, review the correct school supply list and confirm the assigned time for their campus event.
