Mayor Turner Asks Houstonians to Assist with Mississippi Tornado Relief
Mayor Sylvester Turner encourages Houstonians to donate relief supplies to help those affected by the devastating tornadoes that killed more than two dozen people and destroyed more than two-thousand homes and buildings across Mississippi.
To help support the relief effort, Houstonians have two opportunities to assist those in need of assistance.
The City of Houston is partnering with Gallery Furniture to collect donations for survivors of the catastrophic storm.

- Home Depot, Lowes, and Walmart gift cards
- Flashlights
- Lanterns
- Tylenol/Ibuprofen
- Hygiene products (bathing wipes, toothbrush/toothpaste, soap, shampoo, sanitary napkins, adult diapers, deodorant)
- Baby items (diapers, formula, baby food, bottles, blankets, clothes, wipes)
- Coolers for food storage
- Nonperishables
- Water, buckets
- Heavy-duty trash bags
- Charcoal
- Eating utensils and plates
