Maxwell National Night Out Welcomes Sunset Oaks Families to the Maxwell Fire Station
The Maxwell Fire Department will welcome local families to its National Night Out celebration beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026. The free event will take place at the fire station at 9655 TX-142 in Maxwell, giving residents of Sunset Oaks a chance to meet first responders in a fun, informal setting.
Families can see fire trucks up close and watch a fire-hose spray demonstration while learning more about the people and equipment that help protect the area. Planned activities include a bounce house, a children’s smoke house and a kids’ raffle with prizes. Free hot dogs will be available for children, along with popcorn, lemonade and snow cones.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign designed to strengthen relationships between residents, law-enforcement officers, firefighters and other first responders. Texas communities observe the event in October, using family gatherings, safety activities and neighborhood celebrations to encourage crime-prevention awareness, trust and stronger local connections.
For Sunset Oaks families, the Maxwell celebration combines the broader mission of National Night Out with the welcoming atmosphere of a hometown fire station. Children can explore, play and learn about fire safety while adults meet the local firefighters and law-enforcement personnel serving the area.
