Faith, Hope, and Love Benefit Luncheon: Goal MET

Thanks to generous supporters of our luncheon, we raised almost $202,000 to help us fund our programs to feed, house and employ those struggling and in crisis! We are truly grateful for your support. Did you miss our Luncheon! Check out photos from the event here!

This annual luncheon raises funds for programs that have at their core those in our community who are going through hard times. Desperate when they come to WHAM, they are met with hope and compassion and provided food, financial assistance, and employment resources to get them back on their feet.  It is thanks to the support of community members like you that we can give them a reason to smile again after receiving urgently needed assistance!

Congratulations to this year's Penrod Volunteer Awardees, Dianne Higdon and Halina Koziell! These volunteers have so much love for the community they serve, making them the perfect candidates to receive this award at our past luncheon. We thank these wonderful volunteers much, and congratulate them for their hard work and sincere dedication to our mission! To become a volunteer and also donate some of your talent and time to help those in need, visit our Volunteer Page.

Shred Day is Coming on November 8

Whether you have boxfuls of confidential documents at your company or bags of receipts or documents with personal information that cannot go into the trash or recycle bin, bring it to WHAM and we'll securely get it shred right in front of you.

For a minimum donation of $10, we will take up to 6 file-size boxes and give you peace of mind.

Your donation will help us fund the programs that West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) has to help the homeless and families in need get back on their feet and on the path to stability. Additionally, the shredded documents will be recycled, saving over thousands of pounds of paper from going to the trash at each of these earth-friendly events!

Save the date, and just drive up to WHAM on November 8 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM!

WHAM Robbery

A few days ago, a thief entered our offices and stole our case managers' laptops and personal belongings at staff desks. You can see him in this image stuffing his backpack with the items he was stealing. These laptops are expensive and are needed for our staff to be able to work. The theft also made us aware of security measures we need to add such as a door that locks from the outside, and identification card-enabled access to the outside entrance as well as internally.

If you would like to help us improve our staff and volunteers' safety, increase our building's security, or replace the stolen laptops, please reach out to us or make a gift HERE. Thank you!
