Luck Reunion 2026 Returns to Willie Nelson’s Ranch in Luck, Texas with St. Vincent, Trampled by Turtles and Willie Nelson & Family

February 20 2026

For music lovers across Texas — and especially those planning their March around Austin’s busy festival season — Luck Reunion 2026 is once again staking its claim as one of the most distinctive live music experiences in the state.

Set for March 19, 2026, the 14th annual Luck Reunion will unfold in Luck, Texas, the Old West town built in 1985 as the film set for Willie Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger. Located just outside Austin on Nelson’s private ranch, the experience-based festival brings more than 45 musical acts together across intimate, Western-style stages — all with Willie Nelson himself headlining alongside Willie Nelson & Family.

For many Texans, it’s more than a concert. It’s a pilgrimage to a place that has quietly shaped Texas music history for nearly four decades.

A Bucket-List Texas Music Festival Near Austin

Presented by Luck Presents, Luck Reunion 2026 arrives just days after SXSW Music Festival wraps up in Austin (March 12–18), giving visiting and local music fans another opportunity to extend their stay in Central Texas.

This year’s lineup spans genres and generations, featuring:

  • St. Vincent
  • Trampled by Turtles
  • Lukas Nelson
  • Booker T. Jones
  • Robert Lester Folsom
  • Ghostland Observatory
  • Joshua Ray Walker
  • Kaitlin Butts
  • Chuck Prophet and His Cumbia Shoes
  • Anna Tivel
  • Dylan LeBlanc
  • Fred Eaglesmith
  • Micah Nelson performing both as Particle Kid in a duo with producer Daniel Lanois and as part of Willie Nelson & Family

The full-day festival is known for its intimate sets scattered across the town’s preserved wooden storefronts, chapel, and saloon-style venues — creating a setting unlike traditional large-scale music festivals in Texas.

Special programming also returns, including:

  • BMI Writers in the Round featuring Julianna Rankin, Leon Majcen, and Emma Ogier
  • Redbird Songwriters Showcase with Dallas Burrow, Willis Alan Ramsey, Dale Watson, Kelly Willis, and James McMurtry
  • Luck Family Jam led by Carrie Rodriguez, assembling artists from the lineup
  • Surprise guest appearances throughout the day

On Friday, March 20, Luck Presents will host a Todd Snider Rules! Tribute, honoring the beloved singer-songwriter with a lineup of artists connected to his legacy. Additional Luck Presents events during the week are expected to be announced soon.

Why Luck, Texas Is Unlike Any Other Festival Setting

Luck, Texas isn’t a typical venue. It began in 1979 when Willie Nelson and his friend Bill Wittliff set out to create a film adaptation of Nelson’s concept album Red Headed Stranger. Built as a Western town set in 1985, the property was originally scripted to burn down in the film’s final scene. Nelson, having grown attached to it, changed that ending to preserve the town.

Over time, the property became a private retreat — a place for poker games inside the “World Headquarters” building and Easter celebrations inside the small wooden chapel.

In 2012, with Nelson’s blessing, a group of longtime collaborators, family members and creative partners revived the town’s public spirit. What began as a gathering of believers and barstool dreamers has grown into one of the most sought-after independent music festivals in Texas.

Today, Luck Reunion stands as a reflection of Texas’ cross-section culture — honoring tradition in music, food and craft while spotlighting modern-day artists influenced by the legacies before them.

An Experience-Driven Festival in Willie Nelson’s Backyard

Unlike large, open-field festivals, Luck Reunion intentionally leans into intimacy. Sets unfold in close quarters. Artists mingle across the grounds. The preserved Western facades and dusty boardwalks become part of the performance itself.

That intentional design has helped cement Luck Reunion’s reputation as a “bucket-list” Texas music festival — one that draws fans not only for its lineup but for its atmosphere.

With Willie Nelson and Family closing the night, the festival remains deeply rooted in the place that made it possible. It is, quite literally, in Willie’s backyard.
