LSC-University Park Inducts 59 Students into Prestigious National Leadership Honor Society
Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) proudly welcomed its second cohort of students into the esteemed National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) during a special induction ceremony. With a commitment to personal and professional development, the NSLS has over 700 chapters nationwide and boasts a membership exceeding 1.4 million students.
The evening's event at LSC-University Park celebrated the accomplishments of 59 outstanding students who achieved induction into the NSLS. This student-run organization recognizes and fosters leadership qualities among its members, guiding them toward future success.
LSC-University Park President Virginia M. Fraire, Ph. D., gave the congratulatory address at the event, encouraging students to set ambitious goals for the future.
"As we celebrate the induction of these exceptional students, we also celebrate their commitment to leadership and personal development," said Fraire. "Their journey within the NSLS is a testament to their ambition and belief in themselves. We are thrilled about the positive impact they will undoubtedly bring to our campus and the broader community.”
During the ceremony, NSLS members had the opportunity to honor and recognize staff and faculty who had made a significant impact during the semester. The faculty members recognized were Chelsea Bibbs, Ph.D., English professor, and Jermaine Johnson, Ph.D., Criminal Justice professor. Staff members recognized included Dominique Brown, Student Life manager, Erika Taylor, manager of Campus Service Centers and Regina Oliver, Student Success Institute coordinator.
Karina Limon, LSC-University Park's NSLS Chapter President, stated, "Our induction ceremony is a testament to our members' dedication and hard work. Leadership isn't just about achieving personal success; it's about inspiring and serving others. We are committed to creating informed and empowered leaders who will positively impact their communities."
Dean of Student Success & Engagement Catherine Dumond provided the event’s closing remarks.
