LSC-CyFair Library Hosts Comic Book Day Art Contest for All Ages
Comic book enthusiasts and artists of all skill levels are invited to showcase their creativity in the Comic Book Day Art Contest at LSC-CyFair Library. Running from February 15 to April 15, 2025, this contest encourages participants to submit original, comic book or comic-style artwork in celebration of Comic Book Day.

The contest is open to three age categories:

Adult (18+) – Winner receives a $25 Amazon gift card

Teen (13-17) – Winner receives a $25 Amazon gift card

Tween (8-12) – Winner receives a free comic book
Each participant can submit up to two original artworks that are comic book-related, family-appropriate, and 2D in format (no larger than 11x14 inches). Entries must be submitted by April 15, 2025, using the official online submission form at cflibguides.lonestar.edu/comicbookday/art-contest.

Winners’ Artwork to Be Showcased
The winners and first runners-up from each category will be contacted by April 17, 2025, with details on how to claim their prizes. Their artwork will be displayed in the library starting on Free Comic Book Day, aligning with the annual Comic Book Day celebrations. Additionally, the winning pieces will be featured on LSC-CyFair Library’s social media platforms, providing well-deserved recognition for the artists.
What Is Comic Book Day?
Comic Book Day is a global celebration of comics, held annually on the first Saturday in May, coinciding with Free Comic Book Day (FCBD). Originating in 2002, FCBD was created by Joe Field of Flying Colors Comics and has since grown into an international event. Comic book publishers and retailers collaborate to distribute free comic book promotions, making it an exciting day for fans of all ages.
The event not only celebrates comic book storytelling and artistic expression but also encourages people to explore new comics, including graphic novels and manga. LSC-CyFair Library’s Comic Book Day Art Contest provides a unique opportunity for local artists to engage with this beloved tradition while expressing their passion for the medium.
