Local Parks Host Christmas Tree Recycling Drives

December 27 2023

As the holiday season comes to a close and the New Year approaches, Harris County Precinct 3 is offering an environmentally friendly solution for disposing of Christmas trees. The Precinct is now hosting a Tree Recycling Drive, an initiative that not only helps residents clear out their homes post-holiday, but also contributes to the environment by giving these festive trees a second life.

The program is being held at various parks throughout the Precinct, including Burroughs Park in Tomball and Meyer Park in Spring. All local residents to join the effort. The Tree Recycling Drive kicked off recently and will continue through Sunday, January 7. Open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, these parks are ready to take in all non-artificial Christmas trees that residents bring for recycling.

However, there are a few reminders for those planning to participate. Each vehicle is restricted to dropping off a maximum of two trees. Furthermore, all lights and ornaments must be removed from the trees before they are dropped off for recycling. This is to ensure that the trees are as organic and natural as possible for the recycling process.

For additional information about the Tree Recycling Drive, residents are urged to contact the Harris County Precinct 3 parks department at 713-274-0930
