Local Boy Scouts of America District to Host Twilight Camp for Scouts in June
The Red Wolf District of Boy Scouts of America is set to host an immersive Cub Scout Day Camp titled "Twilight Camp" in June 2024. This unique outdoor adventure will provide Cub Scouts entering grades 1 through 5, an opportunity to learn new skills and create lasting memories with new friends.
Running from June 10-13 between 3:00 and 8:00 pm each day, the camp will be held at the St. Timothy Lutheran Church, located at 14225 Hargrave Road, Houston TX, 77070. The drop-off for the kids will begin at 2:30 PM each day.
The camp has a host of activities planned for the attendees. From BB guns, archery, games and crafts to sports, STEM programs, Scout skills and rank advancements, the Twilight Camp promises an exciting blend of activities. The Twilight Camp serves as an excellent precursor to the Council's Cub Scout summer resident camp scheduled for July at Bovay Scout Ranch in Navasota, TX.
Registration fees are $81.50 for the first Scout and $80 for each additional Scout. The fee not only covers the program costs but also includes a t-shirt, patch, water bottle, and supplies. All youth from 1st-grade to the age of 18 must be registered with the Boy Scouts of America, with a registered parent or guardian onsite for children of 3 to 5 years and those going into 1st grade. Since Red Wolf Packs 1626 and 1926 met its Friends of Scouting (FOS) goal, Scouts from those troops will receive a 50% discount.
Volunteers are an integral part of the camp's success. Adults can register themselves and their non-Scouting children aged 3-5, given they are potty trained. Scout troops, crews and ships members are also encouraged to volunteer. However, a guardian or an adult should register with children going into the 1st grade.
Registration for Twilight Camp will be closed on May 29, 2024. For more information or to register, visit the official camp website. For inquiries regarding the camp, email redwolftwilightcamp@gmail.com.
