Lakes on Eldridge Residents Have Several Key Infrastructure and Tax Items to Watch at Sept. 14 MUD 341 Meeting

Lakes on Eldridge Residents Have Several Key Infrastructure and Tax Items to Watch at Sept. 14 MUD 341 Meeting

Lakes on Eldridge  /
September 11 2026

For Lakes on Eldridge homeowners, the next Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 341 meeting is more than a routine monthly board session. Several items on the agenda touch directly on the infrastructure, drainage systems, public finances and neighborhood improvements that help shape day-to-day life in the community.

The Harris County MUD No. 341 Board of Directors will meet Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at noon at 1300 Post Oak Boulevard, Suite 2500, Houston, Texas 77056. The meeting is open to the public, and residents will have an opportunity to provide comments.

Among the most closely watched topics are the District’s proposed 2026 tax rate, ongoing lake wall repairs, Phase III drainage outfall replacements, detention pond maintenance, sidewalk projects and several water and wastewater infrastructure updates.

Proposed 2026 MUD Tax Rate Comes Before the Board

One of the most significant agenda items for property owners is consideration of the District’s proposed 2026 tax rate.

The Board is scheduled to receive a recommendation from its financial advisor, determine its intended tax rate and authorize the required public notice for a future meeting at which adoption of the rate may be considered.

For Lakes on Eldridge homeowners, this is an early step in a process worth following. The Sept. 14 agenda calls for determining the intended rate rather than final adoption, meaning additional notice is expected before the Board considers formally setting the tax rate.

The Board will also review tax collections, delinquent accounts, District finances, investments and payment of invoices.

Lake Wall Repairs and Drainage Projects Remain on the Agenda

Several infrastructure projects that can carry particular importance in a lake-centered Houston-area community are also scheduled for discussion.

The District engineer’s report includes possible action related to lake wall repairs and Phase III drainage outfall replacements, including design work, bidding, contract awards or other steps needed to advance those projects.

The Board is also expected to discuss the condition and maintenance of the District’s detention ponds, its broader capital improvement or asset management planning, and maintenance associated with drainage and detention facilities.

Those discussions can matter well beyond the boundaries of an individual project. In a community where lakes, detention areas and drainage infrastructure work together as part of a larger stormwater system, ongoing maintenance can affect neighborhood resilience, long-term infrastructure reliability and the appearance of shared spaces.

Sidewalk Improvements Also Get Attention

Pedestrian infrastructure is another notable theme on the Sept. 14 MUD 341 agenda.

The Board will receive an update on repairs to sidewalks located near District facilities and is also scheduled to consider approval of a Letter Agreement with Eldridge Community Association, Inc. regarding a sidewalk extension project.

For Lakes on Eldridge residents who regularly walk, jog or travel through the neighborhood with children, those smaller infrastructure projects can have an outsized effect on how connected and accessible the community feels.

The agenda does not specify the exact alignment, cost or construction schedule for the proposed sidewalk extension, so residents interested in those details may want to follow the Board’s discussion and any future project updates.

Water Plant, Lift Station and Fire Hydrant Work Included

Behind-the-scenes utility infrastructure is also on the agenda.

The District is scheduled to receive updates regarding inspections of its water treatment and lift station facilities, the status of a standby generator for the Water Plant, and plans for sandblasting and painting fire hydrants throughout the District.

The Board will also review capital planning for District facilities and the regional wastewater treatment plant.

These types of maintenance items rarely attract the same attention as a new neighborhood project, but they are part of the ongoing work required to keep water, wastewater and emergency-related infrastructure dependable.

Turkey Creek Maintenance and Other District Business

The engineer’s report also includes an update on renewal of a United States Army Corps of Engineers license for maintenance of Turkey Creek, along with consideration of easements and other property-related matters connected to District infrastructure.

Additional agenda items include a proposed annexation involving a 0.90-acre tract owned by HUT Enterprises LLC, discussion of the District website and emergency messaging program, possible amendments to the District Rate Order, and required state reporting concerning bonds, taxes and projects.

The Board may also enter closed session for certain legal, real estate or security matters permitted under the Texas Open Meetings Act before returning to open session to consider any resulting action.

What Lakes on Eldridge Residents Should Know Before the Meeting

Residents do not have to follow every technical line item to find value in attending or reviewing MUD meetings. For Lakes on Eldridge, the Sept. 14 agenda offers a useful snapshot of several systems that residents interact with every day, whether they notice them or not: drainage, lakes, sidewalks, water infrastructure, emergency preparedness and local property taxation.

The meeting begins at 12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at 1300 Post Oak Boulevard, Suite 2500 in Houston. Public comments are listed as the first item on the agenda.

Residents with disabilities who plan to attend and need auxiliary aids or services are asked to contact the District’s attorney at 713-623-4531 at least three business days before the meeting so appropriate arrangements can be made.

For homeowners who want to understand where their MUD tax dollars are going and what infrastructure projects may be moving forward around Lakes on Eldridge, this is one meeting worth keeping on the calendar.
