Two months after opening their doors in Cypress, Texas, KK Cheesecakes has already become a go-to destination for locals craving handcrafted, high-quality cheesecakes. On December 7, 2024, twin sisters Kendal and Kelby Norfleet celebrated the launch of their Cypress storefront after pivoting from their shop in Old Katy, marking a major milestone in their entrepreneurial journey. What began as a childhood love for baking has grown into a successful business known for its dedication to quality ingredients and a passion for crafting unforgettable desserts.
The Norfleet sisters’ passion for cheesecake started when they were just nine years old. "We've always been creative and loved cooking. At nine, we made our first cheesecakes and fell in love with this creamy dessert," they shared. Encouraged by family and friends, they launched KK Cheesecakes in 2017 while attending the University of Miami. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the sisters embraced full-time entrepreneurship, dedicating themselves entirely to their business.

"To us, cheesecake is more than a dessert; it's a treat for creating cherished memories," said Kendal.

Kelby’s background in business, marketing, and content creation has played a vital role in shaping the brand. "Running my own business has taught me how to be more self-driven and resourceful. I love the challenge of building something from the ground up and making it thrive," she said. Working as a team, Kendal focuses on operations and management.
The journey to opening their Cypress location was not without challenges. In early 2024, the sisters decided to sell their property in Old Katy after feeling they had reached a standstill. Despite the uncertainty, they remained determined. "There was so much frustration and just not knowing what comes next. But with lots of faith and guidance, we knew God was just redirecting our steps," they shared in a year-end reflection. Their perseverance led them to their new storefront, where they look forward to serving the community for years to come.
