The My Neighborhood News Live Beats Katy series is brought to you in part by Maria Harrington of Katy Area/West Houston Music and spotlights local bands and venues in Katy. Katy Area/West Houston Music is a public Facebook group that brings local musicians together to share information about their upcoming gigs, collaborate and support one another.

This weekend, residents across the Katy area are invited to kick back and unwind with live music in their own backyard. With a variety of venues and talented musicians ranging from country music or hard rock, Katy offers something for everyone. So grab your friends and family, and head out to support local musicians while making memories with those you love.

Abbey Pub @ 9:30 PM | Sonic Seduction

Sonic Seduction is a Houston based band that plays a variety of tunes from the 70's, 80's to today's pop/dance/rock tunes.

The Brass Tap @ 7:00 PM | Gabriel Montoya

Gabriel Montoya is a singer and guitarist covering songs from the 60s through the 00s. He is a Katy resident and alumnus of James E. Taylor High School.

Copenhagen European Kitchen and Bakery @ 6:30 PM | Alejandro Miramontes

Hailing from Beaumont, Alejandro Miramontes specializes in jazz, pop, and rock genres. Currently based in Nashville, Alejandro continues to captivate audiences with his unique musical style.

Mo's Place @ 7:00 PM | Aaron Watson with Donice Morace

Aaron Watson is a celebrated independent artist hailing from Texas, known for his distinct country style and spirit of the American frontier. Despite working without any corporate backers, Watson has succeeded in reaching the Top 10 of Billboard’s Country Album chart on five separate occasions, including his number one album, The Underdog.

Fal Skye is a high-energy Top 40 Rock Cover band based in Houston, performing at local, regional, and private venues.

Pat Green, one of the founding fathers of modern-era Texas country, has had a successful career spanning over 25 years, even earning a Grammy nomination. Based in Texas, he skillfully combines Southwestern country traditions with rebellious rock 'n' roll, along with a poetic flair that has led to numerous hits, two million records sold, and tours with the likes of Willie Nelson and Dave Matthews Band.
