Katy Summer Camps 2026 Offer Robotics, STEM, Arts and Outdoor Fun for Families Across the Community
With summer just around the corner, many Katy-area parents are looking for ways to keep their children engaged, active and learning outside the classroom. This year, the City of Katy Parks & Recreation Department is offering one of its most expansive summer camp lineups yet, combining STEM education, sports, arts, robotics, science and outdoor activities into programs designed for a wide range of ages and interests.
Running from late May through August, the City of Katy Summer Camps are bringing together local organizations, educators and community partners to create opportunities that go beyond traditional childcare. For many families, the programs offer a chance for children to build confidence, make new friends and explore future interests in science, engineering and technology while still enjoying the fun and energy of summer break.
The camps will be hosted at locations including the Woodlands Community Center, Katy VFW Post 9182 and Katy First, giving families multiple options across the Katy area.

STEM and Robotics Camps Continue Growing in Popularity in Katy
One of the strongest themes throughout this year’s summer offerings is STEM education — an area that continues to see growing interest from Katy-area parents preparing children for future careers in science, engineering and technology.
Programs offered this summer include robotics, drones, LEGO engineering and hands-on science camps designed to blend learning with creativity and teamwork.
American Robotics Academy will host robotics camps at Katy VFW Post 9182, offering half-day and full-day options. Scheduled camps include RoboMania for ages 5-7, TurboTechBots for ages 8-10, Little Engineers/Code Critters for ages 5-7 and Remix Robots Hackers Lab for ages 8-10.
Pricing for the robotics camps begins at $185 for half-day sessions and $315 for full-day camps. Sessions are scheduled for July 13-17 and July 27-31.
DroneTogether Summer Camp will also bring drone-flying instruction to Katy this summer at the Woodlands Community Center, located at 443 Danover Rd, Katy, TX 77494. The July 20-24 camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon for children ages 6-11 and costs $190.
According to camp materials, students will participate in collaborative drone challenges, obstacle course design, team flying activities and beginner-to-advanced flight instruction in what organizers describe as one of the “fastest growing spaces in technology.”

Summer Camps Offer More Than Entertainment for Katy Families
For many Katy parents, summer camps have become about more than simply filling time between school years. Programs focused on teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and social interaction are increasingly viewed as opportunities to help children grow academically and personally while staying connected to the local community.
The City of Katy’s 2026 summer camp lineup gives local families more than just a way to keep kids busy during the break — it creates opportunities for children to explore new interests, make friends, build confidence and stay connected to their community throughout the summer.
With many camps already promoting limited availability, city officials are encouraging families to register early before sessions reach capacity.
