Katy Native and Rising Country Star Coleton Black Celebrates the Release of His Debut Album Come And Get Ya Some
Born and bred in Katy, Coleton Black is now taking the country music scene by storm with the release of his first album. Raised within a family steeped in musical talent, Black's love for music began early and is deeply interwoven with his Texan roots. His father, Kevin Black, and uncles Brian and Clint Black, serve as his earliest and most influential musical guides.
Black's passion for music began its public journey during his school days. He and a group of friends would perform renditions of classic rock hits, such as George Thorogood's 'Bad to the Bone', at talent shows. This early success led to regular performances at local festivals and private parties, including the Katy Rice Harvest Festival.
Throughout his life, Coleton has been a passionate student of music. Whether he was playing the guitar or singing, Coleton was constantly honing his skills, often dressed in his favorite childhood accessory - bright red cowboy boots. This early immersion into music allowed him to acquire wisdom from experienced professionals, including his father, and develop his unique musical style.

After launching his solo career, Coleton was faced with the many challenges that life throws. Yet, his deep-seated passion for music remained unshaken. He worked tirelessly to balance a stable day job and his musical gigs at night. Rather than give up on his dreams, Coleton chose to pursue them fervently. His musical journey took a significant leap when he joined his father on tour, performing as a backup vocalist and lead guitarist.
Leveraging his unique blend of traditional country and bold, modern influences, Coleton has recently released his debut album, 'Come And Get Ya Some,' marking him as a promising figure in the ever-evolving country music genre. The album serves as an introspective account of his personal evolution from an emerging talent to a promising star. His unique style, characterized by raw emotion and authenticity, draws inspiration from the legends he was surrounded by growing up while striking a chord with today's audiences.
As he prepares for a series of live events and new projects, Black is set to leave a lasting imprint on the country music landscape. Last weekend, Coleton performed his entire album along with some of his fan favorite tunes alongside Steel Country at a CD release performance at the No Label Brewing Co., where the Katy community gathered to support one of their own. Despite the extreme heat, Black powered through to the end, delivering a riveting performance.
An exclusive Album Release party is scheduled for August 24, 2024, at the Regal Rooms in Austin. The night will include a VIP Meet and Greet at 7 PM, offering fans a chance to connect with the rising country star. Coleton Black's exceptional journey from a music-loving child in Katy to a burgeoning country music star serves as an inspiring testament to the power of passion and perseverance.
