Clothed by Faith Calls on Katy Community to Help Fill Urgent Clothing Needs for Local Families
For a child heading to school, a parent preparing for work or a family working through an unexpected hardship, having clean clothing that fits can make an immediate difference. Right now, Clothed by Faith in Katy is asking the community to help make sure those basics are available when local families need them.
The Katy-based nonprofit is seeking new or gently used clothing in several specific sizes, with a particularly strong need for new, unopened socks and underwear for children and adults.
The request comes from an organization that served 20,407 people in 2025 through its school and community agency partnerships. Clothed by Faith works with more than 100 agencies and 21 school districts across the Greater Houston area, helping connect clothing directly with children, adults and families experiencing difficult circumstances.
For Katy residents wondering how a few shirts, a pair of pants or a package of socks can matter, the answer is found in the way those donations are ultimately used: not simply as secondhand clothing, but as complete clothing packages prepared for a specific person.
What Clothed by Faith Needs Most Right Now
The current Katy clothing donation request is focused on several sizes that are particularly needed.
For men, the organization needs small and medium short- and long-sleeve T-shirts; pants and shorts with 30-, 32- and 34-inch waists; and medium joggers and athletic shorts.
For girls, current needs include sizes 12, 14 and 16 in short- and long-sleeve tops and shorts.
For boys, Clothed by Faith is seeking sizes 12, 14 and 16, including short- and long-sleeve tops, hoodies, shorts and pants.
And across all age groups, new socks and underwear remain an especially important need. Because those items are included in clothing packages but cannot be distributed used, Clothed by Faith asks donors to provide unopened packages in a range of sizes.
New or gently used donations should be clean and in condition someone would feel comfortable receiving and wearing.
From a Katy Garage to Thousands of Clothing Packages
Clothed by Faith’s story began in Katy in 2013, long before the organization was serving more than 20,000 people in a year.
Founder Abi Fourie, who grew up in an immigrant family and experienced life near the poverty line herself, began the ministry after recognizing that families in the Katy area were struggling to obtain adequate clothing. The effort started simply: an empty garage and bags of donated clothing from a local ministry.
What began there eventually grew into a nonprofit with locations in Katy and Deer Park and a network of partnerships stretching across Greater Houston.
The organization’s mission is faith-based: to demonstrate God’s love through providing clothing to those in need. But the practical work is highly personal.
Rather than handing someone a random assortment of donated clothes, volunteers carefully prepare roughly a week’s worth of clothing, along with shoes, new socks and underwear. Clothing can be selected with a recipient’s preferences in mind, packaged in gift bags and accompanied by notes of encouragement.
That attention to presentation is intentional. Clothed by Faith describes the larger purpose of its work as helping people experience dignity and confidence at a time when both can be difficult to hold onto.
How Clothing Reaches Katy-Area Families in Need
One reason local clothing donations can travel farther than donors might realize is Clothed by Faith’s partnership model.
The nonprofit works with schools, school districts, nonprofit organizations and community agencies that encounter families and individuals who need assistance. Those partners can help identify clothing needs and connect people with Clothed by Faith.
Katy ISD, for example, has listed Clothed by Faith among community resources available to families, noting that the organization can provide approximately one week of clothing to children and adults in need.
That approach means someone receiving clothing may be a student whose family is experiencing housing instability, a parent rebuilding after a setback or another community member going through circumstances neighbors may never see.
It also makes maintaining the right inventory important. A warehouse may contain plenty of donated clothing overall and still be short on the particular sizes needed to fill a request that day.
That is why Clothed by Faith periodically asks the community to concentrate donations on specific items such as the men’s and children’s sizes currently running low.
Clothed by Faith Expands Its Katy Footprint
The organization also reached a significant milestone in 2026, expanding its Katy operations at 802 Dominion Dr #100, Katy, TX 77450 to provide more room for processing donations and preparing clothing for clients.
The expanded facility was designed to increase Clothed by Faith’s ability to sort donations, outfit more people and work with additional schools and community organizations as demand grows across the region.
For a nonprofit that began with donated clothes piled in a garage, that growth reflects both the continuing need for clothing assistance and years of support from volunteers, donors, churches, schools and community partners.

Want to Do More? Volunteers Keep the Operation Moving
Clothing donations are only part of what makes the program work.
Clothed by Faith says approximately 200 volunteers contribute more than 20,000 hours each year, helping sort, organize, prepare and distribute donations.
At the Katy branch, volunteer opportunities are generally available Monday through Friday in two-hour shifts between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Warehouse volunteers must be at least 14, and volunteers ages 14 and 15 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Community groups can also participate through organized volunteer opportunities, clothing drives and fundraising, although Clothed by Faith asks groups to coordinate in advance because storage capacity and current inventory needs can change.

A Small Donation Can Fill a Very Practical Need
A package of socks does not look like a major community investment sitting in a shopping cart. Neither does a boys’ hoodie, a pair of size 32 pants or a few gently used shirts folded into a donation bag.
But when those items become part of a complete clothing package for someone who needs them, their value changes.
For families experiencing financial hardship, displacement or another difficult chapter, something as ordinary as having enough clean clothes for the week can remove one immediate worry. For children, having clothing that fits can make walking into school a little easier. For adults, it can mean having something appropriate to wear while working, interviewing or managing daily responsibilities.
Clothed by Faith’s current request gives Katy-area residents a straightforward way to meet that need close to home — one shirt, one pair of pants and one new package of socks or underwear at a time.
